Pacquiao would be 40 years old and dropping down to a weight he last made a pit stop at 10 years ago. Lomachenko is in his prime, 8 years younger, is the greatest amateur of all time, possesses otherworldly skills and talent of which we will unlikely ever see again, and is the consensus Pound For Pound King.

What would a victory over Lomachenko mean for his legacy? I mean a clear win or a KO victory. Top 5 ATG? I already have him as the GOAT, but I realize that not everyone is as unbiased as I am.

Is Salido an ATG? He was 35/36 when he beat Lomachenko.

35/36 is still 4-5 years, which can be a lifetime in boxing. Salido wasn't violently KO'd. And Salido didn't drain down 3 weight classes.

    Are you dense?

To answer your dumb thread topic. No. Who tf is Lomachenko in the big scheme of things? A guy who wore pampers well into his adult life? After 400 preparations he still failed to flush a turd down the toilet who goes by the name of Salido. If Manny is propelled to top 5 for beating this guys leftovers, then obviously this should propel Salido to atleast top 50 realm lmao

I think he's around 12 but hasn't made significant improvement to his legacy in about five years. What you are asking, for a previous p4p #1 to beat a new p4p#1 ten years his junior has simply never happened before. You can almost count the number of times a p4per over 35 beat a younger p4per 30 or younger on one hand. In living memory it's just Hopkins vs Trinidad, Mayweather vs Canelo and both of those fellows might have had some extra help from a few supplements to turn back father time.

Ray Robinson has 2 victories like that over Gene Fullmer and Carmen Basilio when he was 36 and 37. By 39 the best he could do was hold Fullmer to a draw. Archie Moore beat Harold Johnson when he was 37 and Johnson was 27. Dick Tiger beat Nino Benvenuti when he was 39 and Nino was 29. Mayweather and Hopkins were both 36, 5 of the 6 times this has happened in history the guy was no older than 37. Pac is 40 and there are no examples of anyone 40 years old beating p4p fighters.

Hell, when Duran beat Barkley he was only 37. There definitely seems to be a kind of biological barrier around 35-37.

*Statistically, this makes Golovkin beating Canelo in a rematch even more unlikely, but if somehow he did at 36, that's very impressive. If Golovkin beats Canelo in September he joins a very select group. This group is smaller than the number of people who've gone 50-0. But what a difference a year makes.

You mean the current P4P #1 after just 12 fights, during which he managed to pick up 3 titles, in 3 divisions mind you, and displayed level of skills so high, 4 guys, not even hurt, decided to not continue the fight. In a row.

Absolute nobody, history won’t remember him. Maybe he’ll do something meaningful later on in his career.

There’s a reason no one wants to take on guys like Salido in their first 10 pro fights, let alone 2nd, moron.

I'm asking about a living legend descending 3 weight classes to beat a consensus P4P King who is in his prime and possesses otherworldly boxing ability.

Name a fighter who has made 4 guys in a row quit? 5 if you count Linares (who I think quit).

Yeah. My favorite one was the 122 pounder, oh wait. I mean “130” pound fighter. Forgot his name. Or the other one, maybe fought at 130 once. Was shelved for a very long time. Had to focus on shedding 50 pounds. Omg I can’t forget the guy who robbed the inactive fat shredder I just mentioned prior who just lost to a shot Gamboa. Maybe the guy who was coming off a loss and moved up to 130 for the first time was better than all of those. I wouldn’t know since I didn’t get to watch it because ESPN decided HOF football was more important. My memory just sucks. Guess I should pay more attention to Lomachenko who is doing nothing no other 30 year old has done before in boxing. It’s pretty stupid to bring up Salido to talk down such an illustrious fighter. Who cares about facts and context in today’s society anyways. Go Trump!!!

Better? Can I be part of the dumbed down masses now?

We get it. Besides hating Pacquiao, you also despise Lomachenko. Why bother getting into this thread?
