People were talking about Whyte facing Ortiz on a thread but I read today Whyte will take on Parker instead, which fight would of had the most importance for the eventual winner of either contest?
I feel the left hook that hurt AJ would of had Ortiz in trouble and Whyte`s body attack was good in the AJ fight, I don`t feel Ortiz could take a good body attack without gassing, he gassed badly v Wilder.
I wonder how much he has left in the tank at this stage though. I'm a Parker fan but would easily pick peak Ortiz, but this old version which took quite a bit of punishment and is also quite a lot slower? Not so sure.
I think Ortiz is better than Parker or Whyte in terms of skill but he's also the oldest of them and he hadn't looked good going into the Wilder fight so it's hard to say if he's good enough to be a clear favourite. I think Parker would be a tougher opponent fro Ortiz than Whyte. We saw how Scott's movement befuddled Ortiz at times and Parker's movement would likely again be problematic for Ortiz and Parker does have a good chin so it's possible he could out point Ortiz. Whyte's usual style would play into Ortiz's hands which is why I think Ortiz is a tougher fight for Whyte. Whyte is more stationary and could get countered because of this. Whyte could out work him but risks getting KO'ed by being overly aggressive. Parker's lack of power and countering means Whyte has a easier time with Parker than Ortiz as he can be more aggressive and not get punished for it as much. But he also has a far more mobile target to deal with who's faster than anyone he's fought to date. He struggled to cut off Helenius, he might very well struggle even more vs the younger fresher Parker. So I rank them Ortiz, Parker and then Whyte.
He will keep Dillian at the end of his jab. Dillian couldn’t even put a dent in Chisora with the body shots, I like Dillians body work but it’s not fight ending body work it’s more just good scoring shots.
the problem with Joe is I don’t think he likes to trade inside and ultimately that’s how he would have to beat Ortiz. If he just jabs with Ortiz I think Ortiz could catch him with a big left hand, I guess we will Have to see how King Kong look so the way back. The Ortiz that fought wilder would beat both tho imo.
