Artur Beterbiev Loses Legal Case and is bound To GYM Until 2021.

    After nearly a year of promotional confusion, IBF light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev has lost his legal case against promoter Yvon Michel of GYM.

    Beterbiev has attempting to invalidate his promotional agreement with Michel - and then jump over to fight under the banner of Top Rank.

    But earlier today in a Canadian courtroom, a judge ruled the Beterbiev is under a valid contract to Groupe Yvon Michel until 2021.

    I can't say that it was expected, but I'm not shocked at all either — it was rather obvious that Beterbiev was overoptimistic and even naive about the possible outcomes of this court hearing.

    GYM will have to fulfil their obligations now and promote the guy. If he is stripped then GYM lose credibility and future business.

    Put it behind you and move on. Make the unification matches now.

    If Beterbiev wants that big fights he'll get them, the question is how much money does he want ? He doesnt seem to have Kovalev's mentality though. BTW Main Event is in good relations with GYM, after Marcus Browne bout was canceled Duva contacted Yvon Michel about this unification fight, Michel was in a legal battle with his fighter but he said ' he passed the offer to Beterbiev's people'. So well see if Artur continues to sabotage himself or if he wants to win all the belts. Its his choice

    At least David is young but Beterbiev tried to break from his promoter at age 32 just before his first shot at a title, thats crazy

    Beterbiev got screwed by GYM just like Golovkin was screwed by Universum. GYM favors the local Stevenson over Beterbiev just like Universum favored the "German" Sturm over GGG. The difference is that Golovkin turned pro when he was younger so he had a way out of this ****. Beterbiev's career is likely over.

    also yvon will start having to get him fights. I dont know why yvn wantts to promote him if he is not going to bother getting him fights
