It had it's own press conference day. Flanagan had his with undercard so in reality there was 1 main event.

Fury will lose the weight and look back to his best once he is back on the gear.

Of course! The Fury comeback fight is big news in and out of the ring. Due to the expected media interest it was sensible to have a separate news conference so as not overshadow the rest of the card.

Regardless of weather it was the main or event or not it was made clear this was a warm up fight and would not be competitive.

Not sure what exactly people were expecting? A toe to toe 50/50 was never on the cards for a 20stone Fury who had been out out of the ring for years.

I am surprised at the public backlash and witch hunt after this especially as the guy is recovering from well publicised mental health issues.

Is it hard for people to understand, this wasn't about the fight. It was always about how Fury coped with the limelight again. The fight was a complete bi product of that. If you expected anything else, then you are stupid.

His team will see how he reacted to that, and then move up in class.

I would say he has got off very lightly that he still gets mainstream coverage after being caught cheating. To come back top of the bill and a big deal with BT tells me he is VERY lucky to not have had the Kid Galahad treatment (even he got off lightly IMO).

Something that actually resembled a fight. It may not of been competitive but that doesn't excuse the antics Fury was displaying in the ring.

The whole attitude before the fight was a joke. Him and Seferi laughing and joking like they were best friends both paid to put on an exhibition. Come back or not it was a complete farce.

If you look into the facts of each case the circumstances are very different. If it was a criminal court the case would have been thrown out as Ukad made a complete balls up of the whole thing. It should also be noted that Fury had trace amounts while Galahad was positive. To add to that Fury's B sample was clean as was the subsequent blood test.

    Cannot disagree with that.

he failed the test ... I dont think it matters that most of the nandralone was out his system by then and then clean during the B sample .... he also failed to give a sample a year later funny that.

He cheated, he failed, i dont really care how "badly" he cheated or was caught cheating.

    I dont support drug cheats

Fury's team were potentially also very smart about it also. If they decided to go down the mental health route it mean they were able to silence certain people as they would not have been able to disclose certain details there and then which helped him. I mean there are people out there (including boxing fans who have no idea he was actually banned) they thought he had mental problems and that was the reason for the time out!

You are suprised about the public backlash? Did you watch the 'fight'...you said you are not sure what people were expecting, well i for one was expecting him to come out and demolish Seferi and send a statement the division...instead we got a sparring match (tbh i wouldn't even class it as that.

It is what it is though, he got the win and its on to the next one which im still looking foward to as im a massive fan/supporter of the gypsy king.

    Styles make fights.

Fury is all wrong for Klitschko but Joshua isn't.

The loss against Fury wasn't because Wladimir was shot as was ridiculously claimed by some but because he was fighting a man whose style - and height - he had had no experience against for some time if ever.

The Klitschko who fought Joshua still loses 9 times out of 10 against Fury.

Agreed with the whole post, but the way it was worded made it seem like it was because Fury fought a lesser version of Klitschko somehow

Yes I did watch it. Having followed Fury's carrer from day one it was not surprising at all. Why does everyone expect him to morph into some kind of Anthony Joshua style KO artist? Same old Fury albeit a bit slower and fatter.
