Joshua is already fighting Povetkin in September so Wilder is talking rubbish again. i don't believe a word out of Wilder, Finkel, Joshua or Hearn's mouth, unless it is official confirmation
I am getting bored with this! I more want to see what better fighters at the lighter weights are up to, these big guys are full of bull, that Fury shite was the final straw, some idiot said Fury`s punches look harder than Wilder`s in his fight on Saturday, I seriously believe some boxing fans have learning difficulties.
Fingers crossed, but I would be shocked if this happens this year. The cut off for a stadium fight in the UK is going to have to be September due to weather and HBO already have Canelo v GGG (in all probability) scheduled on PPV so I doubt showtime (who will want this on PPV) would want to try to run 2 in the same month. I think they both will go ahead with their Povetkin/BreaZeale fights next and then meet up from April 19 onwards when outdoors is viable again. If that’s the case,I’m ok with that arrangement as both camps have cut a deal. Having said all that, would love to be wrong and old fast car confirms it’s a go.
Tony Dosh stated that 'it is not about the money' yet fails to take the fight for good money. There really is no valid excuse for Tony Dosh if this fight does not happen.
They have the option of the Millenium Stadium year round. Calzaghe vs Kessler was there in November. Joshua vs Takam late Oct, and hell even March is barely great weather in the UK. Depends on how hell bent they are on a Wembley stadium fight. But that is delaying the fight considerably if they can't do Sept.
Not Possible. How on God's Earth will Joshua-Wilder be a US PPV when it is taking place in the UK at UK Time ? That Excuse wont work from Hearn. Why on earth would US Fans pay $60 to watch a fight in the afternoon between two unknown fighters to the US Casual Audience.
In regards to the US market I see this being on Dazn. Flagship show to get people to jump over and sign on. Hopefully means we could have a strong undercard too. I definitely see this being at Wembley. 90k>70k at Millenium or however many. Make no mistake about it, this is one for the ages gents, just sit back and enjoy it.
Good point about the timing. Showtime definitely wanted the fight on PPV though if it’s was to be in Vegas/US. I don’t know, can Hearn get a later licence so the fight starts at say 11:30-12 so it’s early evening on the east coast. . Probably unlikely I know, but Let’s see how it pans out.
I would have thought it would be a massive financial risk to put this on DAZN without having some smaller cards on the platform first to test out everything? Maybe not though, let’s see.
US Tv Rights will be Guranteed to belong to Showtime. They invested in Joshua first and i'm sure Wilder's Team will have made sure it's part of the contract as Showtime has been a loyal backer to Wilder and is his flagship Network
