Trouble seems to follow Mr Furey,Fights in the crowd are a regular at his shows but surely the knowledgeable Belfast crowd wouldn't be up for such shennanigans
Trouble in the crowd seems a regular occurrence at warren shows. You don't hear as much about it on Matchroom promotions.
Just exactly how gullible are Norn Iron boxing fans? Enough to fill Windsor park to see Carl vs a guy he would've been facing 5-7 years ago in terms of levels?
The Windsor park show seems to have been conceived back to front. Usually you have a fight and then the promoter looks for a venue dependent on demand. This deciding on a stadium fight and THEN finding an opponent is truly innovative, but somehow I doubt it's going to catch on. What. A. Mess...
Irish fighters for some reason seem to thrive and relish boxing in Aust. Dennis Hogan based out of Brisb is now no 2 for the WBO 154 Title and is patiently awaiting to face the winner of Jamie Munguia vs Liam Smith July 21 clash . And Bondi based TJ Doherty is fighting for the IBF 122 lb Title in Tokyo against Champ Ryosuke Iwasa Aug 16.
You think Hyland beats Ritson? Hardly. Carls just being nice. Ritsons nothing great - a powerful plodder really - but he is too just powerful for Hyland. Could get ugly for Hyland. His corner better have that towel handy.....
sure you thought tennyson was going to lose also... thats see how hyland goes... hes got a bit of fire power also... a tear up might suit him
Be interested to know whether Turner feels he underestimated Gorman in retrospect? He certainly looked to be putting some weight behind the punches. I'd only seen him a couple of times before but he looked a level above those performances and Turner never really got into this one bar a couple of moments.
I don't remember saying Tennyson would lose but I do think Hyland will lose. Ritson is very one dimensional, gets hit way too much etc, but he's too powerful for Hyland in my opinion anyway.
