My biggest gripe about Mr Fury on Saturday is that this fight was sold as something worth paying good money for when everyone paying attention knew that it wouldn't be.

I don't begrudge the man a soft comeback, I don't begrudge him being overweight (given how much he has lost so far), I don't begrudge a relaxed attitude to what was practically an exhibition bout... I begrudge him charging good money for it and shafting the casuals.

This stage of his comeback should have been unheralded & unpromoted in a small hall out of the public eye as much as possible. They could have kept it fairly quiet and have him give some genuine grass roots boxing fans a real surprise treat for their £25 at the York Hall.

Your original statement said 'I think it’s difficult to like both' but you then went on to confirm that you enjoy contrasting, possibly polar opposite genres of film and books and differing cuisines. You may dislike a particular genre, or fighter in this case, and find it difficult to watch or like but this is all down to personal taste.

It is possible to like - and even 'support' - both Joshua and Fury despite the obvious differences that exist between them though you clearly don't: nothing wrong with that, by the way, it's all subjective and down to taste.

Must question something else you said by the way. I agree that anyone with a great, dominant jab would cause Tyson all kinds of torment, but watching his fights surely can't be a waste of time because of this? If you enjoy his style - and once again it's subjective - or even have an interest in watching his reign as the best heavyweight in the World in the aftermath of The Lost Generation, why not just sit back and enjoy them for what they and he was?

This is like some sort of twilight zone post. Never thought id see someone on a boxing forum stating their favourite films are romantic and dramas....and their wife tries to force them to watch sci fi. It's like my life in reverse, I'm always trying to get the sci fi on and my mrs is making me watch garbage romantic comedies!

I agree that records can be misleading but also think people are fooled by a hyped fighters performance.
For example if Haye had of fought Duhaupaus on his first comeback fight and beaten him in the same way, which at that time I would think could have been a possibility, people would not rate Duhaupaus but because Duhaupaus went rounds with Wilder he then gets thought of as greater. I think results can sometimes be misleading also like records

I am not a fan of PED Fury, think his boxing style is boring and thought he narrowly lost the fight last night.

    However I must recognise:

    1. His courage for taking on the fight after a short return from a long absence.
    2. His effective style even though it does not excite me.
    3. His desire to win getting off the floor with a heavy knockdown when very few would.

The big man stuck in a cracking performance.

Just a pity that through BT 's incompetence I wasn't able to watch the fight that I had paid for.I hope this **** up costs them a fortune!
