Cortez' step in and squeal break when both were at opposite sides of the ring was one of the most hilarious and blatant displays of corruption i've ever seen Cant remember which round it was, probably the first, but Ricky shook him down to his boots. All i can remember after that was Mayweather elbows and Cortez splitting them whenever Ricky was doing the damage With a neutral ref Hatton KO5 With a British ref Hatton KO2
Mayweather ALWAYS had the officials in his pocket When Cortez retired Bayless took over It was blatant they didn't try to hide it
Floyd would've just fought differently, but I still see him outboxing Hatton, but definitely don't see Mayweather getting a stoppage. Cortez was a disgrace in that fight.
So you telling me that Floyd, having a promoter and not a lot of pull or money, was able to get refs in his pocket? How? If I said that about Pac, it would be 'talk to my promoter, Bob Arum'..lol And how would he get refs in his pocket for his first fight away from Top Rank? Then against the Golden Boy himself? Then Hatton? What's his secret since you know so much...lol
It must be sad to be you guys who hate on Floyd so much. Floyd beats Ricky any day all day every day. Just different levels of fighters.
The same could be said about Tszyu vs Hatton. That was tailor made for Fatton. While I don't know if Ricky could KO Floyd in 2 rounds, he would have done a lot better with his ref from the Kostya fight. In addition Floyd brought him up to 147 where he wasn't at his best - he was definitely a 140 fighter. Floyd always got the advantage from his fight with Golden Girl.
Hatton would’ve had a chance vs Floyd... if they would have fought in a dark, narrow dead end alley with Floyd’s back against a wall & Hattons ref from the Tszyu mugging.
You think the fight would have been any different at 140? And 147, Hatton didn't have to drain himself not work as hard to make weight. And Floyd would have had an easy time making 140. Or do you think Floyd would have been drained at 140? Hatton was the bigger man that night.
I remember when I was watching the fight live thinking Cortez was basically nullifying Hatton. It wouldn't of changed the result though, just the manner of defeat.
