You tryna compare this guy to legends who have a already made their names. Of course Spence isn't great yet, but he has at least 6 years left at the top level. Anyone who expects him to be great right now is delusional.
Yeah at JMW and MW it will be harder t o use that game plan but someone like that doesn't exist at 147 yet.
Nah. The different in 'Era's' is today we get to see a whole lot more of fighters....Which means a whole lot more flaws, and analysis of these flaws. It's just human nature, and is evident in other sports.....such as soccer. In the UK we constantly compare current soccer champions with the 'Great teams of the 80's and 90's'....and it's unfair. 30-40 years of hype v what is currently happening? Only one winner.
Nah, the talent just isn't there. It's kind of like in the NBA draft. They draft Freshman at the top because people see growth potential in them. I don't care how good you are as a senior, you ain't going number one... and those guys are only 22. Again, Spence can fight, don't misunderstand me, but I think he's a little too predictable to be truly GREAT.
EXCELLENT comparison. Leonard was the best WW of my lifetime. I think Spence would have been in deep with ODLH at 147.
Are you in a bad mood again? I didn't think you even liked Spence all that much. It's all good Cistatey, you still Mah Boy.
1. Lomachenko was the greatest AMATEUR of all time. Very Good professional. He's being protected by Uncle Bobby until he decides to drop him, like he did with Paq. 2. Crawford has fought the same level of comp as Chenko, and more of them. 3. Joshua would beat Ali: I'd say 50/50. He's bigger, stronger and juiced yes, but he didn't run over Parker. 4. Lomachenko would get undressed by Duran. Not even a contest. And again, I don't dislike Chenko. Watch Duran-Moore or Duran - Barkley if you want to see who Duran was. Lomachenko is more ATHLETIC, he can walk on his hands and hit a tennis ball hanging from his cap and all that. Duran was FAR mor skilled as a boxer. Duran would have ripped through Salido at 25 and Linares at 30 like a hot knife through butter.
The difference between boxing and other sports is that in the past, boxing was seen as a profession. Now it is something you do when you can't play.... go to old for... other sports. At least in the US and probably Britain also. Believe me I have asked myself, "Slender, are you just the old man reliving Ali videos in your head. The answer is "I don't think so." There's just a huge gap in boxing training from what there used to be. I watched Jeff Horn last week, the guy is a world titleholder, he looks like a novice with 9 amateur fights. Even in the ring as he was getting his ass kicked, his corner had NOTHING for him. Why? Because he doesn't know anything.
OP's notorious plan - By claiming that great fighters no longer exist I'll attempt to make myself look more knowledgeable and educated about the sport I clearly know very little about. Seriously, how many "real fans" do you see hunched over constantly crying like children at the state of their preferred sport? It's an epidemic. The "whiny" fan.
I also like how he’s always looking to get off first and really set the pace. And he’s masterful at distance so he gets on the end of his punches
