Fight for fight and fighter for fighter, there has never been a better era in boxing's history than the 1940s.

Wow, that left hook is devastating. Nearly decapitated him. Time to go look him up

48 wins 44 ko's. Going into Meza he was 40-0-0 with about 38 ko's from memory.

Marlon Starling would have given Thomas Hearns serious problems had they fought at 147.

Marvin Hagler beats Sugar Ray Robinson at 160.

Jeff Chandler beats anyone not named Gomez at 122.

Big John Tate would've had a good chance to beat Larry Holmes had he got by Weaver.

Galindez beats Conteh at 175 prime vs prime.

Bobby Joe Young would beat Aaron Pryor even if the Hawk was in his prime.

Saoul Mamby beats Alexis Arguello at 140.

    Okay, this is really interesting.

But isn't it possible that the difference isn't (just) steroids, but also the ability to add pounds of functional muscle mass with weight training? The 1980s were the first time when boxers started experimenting with that.
