The first and second you claim were no count knockdowns. You're nitpicking the likes on an irrational boxing hater would do. Firpo was knocked down 9 full times. Not some shabby two crappy knockdowns. Do you also think Floyd has been down in his career? Bottom line is they don't count. There were only 2 real knock downs. If you count gloves touching the ground then you're senile.

No newsman helped Dempsey into the ring. Dempsey was pushed off of their expensive property.

He didn't really go rushing in till he initially hurt Willard. Before that, it was more of a track contest by Dempsey. So I don't think he threw off Willard at all.

How about a 1919 Foreman against a 1973 Dempsey. Eras have to be taken into consideration. Based on your thread I'd take George for sure but you're disregarding eras.

I could see Dempsey winning....would have to play on George's mentality....punch and get out, punch and get out till George gets frustrated. He'll fall down out of shock after one decent shot to the jaw around round 10. I can also see Dempsey getting cocky like Conn and getting starched like Moorer. 60/40 Dempsey.

The one guy positively wouk d beat Dempsey was Holyfield because the real deal wouldn't lose his self confidence like Foreman would.

this nothing factual. It is only a viewpoint. You can only say in your opinion you think Dempsey gets spanked.

It is evident Dempsey fought with very small gloves and was much faster than George. That is factual.

Do you have evidence of the film being edited to make Dempseys assistance to the ring look less deliberate? Unless you do this is more mumbo Jumbo.

Would the 1973 version of Foreman think differently?

Has anyone thought about discussing Dempsey and Marciano?

Two of the over-loved hws to ever grace this forum. I admit I have a soft spot for Rocky but honestly think he would have a great battle with Dempsey until he broke his down into little pieces.

Dempsey wasn't "lifted back in the ring",the reporters pushed him off them in sheer self preservation he was kicking and flailing wildly and gave Kid McPartland , one of judges a black eye in the process.
I've told you this about 5 times now, it's getting rather tiresome seeing you keep repeating it irregardless.
You're starting to make Combates De Boxeo's opinion of you on Dempsey seem rather justified.

There was a lot of talk in an old thread on Dempsey Fipro. Klompton chimed in. He has the full edited film. He admits Dempsey definitely beat the count even with the assisted help. However, it’s violation of the rules to be helped in any sort of assistance, which could have been a DQ

I don’t think you can make it through a Dempsey thread without getting offended. Dempsey fans are very sensitive. Even people are attacking mild mannered Edward in the other Dempsey thread.

He would just smash Dempsey to pieces early like he would Marciano too

Im not getting offended but I am getting tired of you being, and I'm going to be kind here, "economical with the truth.
    I repeat.
NOBODY LIFTED DEMPSEY BACK IN THE RING"
Also for your information ,at the time Dempsey fought Firpo this was the ruling about a fighter going out of the ring.
"If a fighter did not return to the ring immediately the referee may count him out as if he were down"
The rule said NOTHING about aid in returning to the ring.
After this fight, with the urging of Nat Fleischer this was one of the rules that was "clarified",the wording was changed to"any boxer who was knocked out of the ring was required to return within ten seconds under his own power.
Fleischer wrote an article about it in the November 1923 edition of the Ring entitled" As We See It"
So you are wrong on that too!" My source is Randy Roberts.

Yes, you think so. YOU. It’s YOUR opinion. You need to say it. Rather just announcing that as if it’s the truth.
