Warren said in his latest interview that the future of Boxnation will be announced at the end of the week, that it will have a different format and there will be domestic live boxing ( MTK ). What's the chances of it going online only ? He'll have no carriage fees to BT and sky but obviously that would really be the beginning of the end. Time will tell.
Boxnation is a dead duck floating and he really needs to stop shafting his few remaining subscribers and pull the plug.
It's the wide variety of international shows that I am concerned about. They have consistently delivered over the years, the best boxers in the world.
This.... Nearly all the best fights/cards i have seen over the years are live International ones on BN...Its well worth the fee to watch them only
Yeah, same for me. The MTK shows will be a nice tough but it's these cards I worry about. Seems very unlikely that BT would pick them up in BN's absence.
they've just announced that BoxNation will continue to run for international fights, they allude to UK fights from Queensbury no longer being shown on BoxNation
A UK Boxing Channel not showing UK Boxing from the promoter owning the channel - this business model I do not understand. It was loss making already and surely this confirmed decision will drive many more to unsubscribe. There are not many UK people interested in middle of the night boxing unless it the odd superfight and/or involving a famous British Fighter. Words fail me
Warren needed the BT deal to survive and since the new contract this is part of the deal. Warren was in no position to say no really.
im guessing he is now being governed by BT and they've told him that they only want his fights on their channel, not sharing subscriptions with another channel
This content is protected I still think that news of the demise of Boxnation is very much exaggerated. The MTK deal and the renewal of the Top Rank deal are good signs in my opinion.
Agreed, if there was no intention to go ahead then they wouldn't bother with the MTK deal. In an ideal world: all FW shows are on BT, MTK on BN, Sky (and the additional US ones) show Matchroom, C5 stick with Cyclone and there's the occasional VIP shows on a channel that evades me currently. I mean, it might be more boxing on UK TV in general. I know we do not get nice things, but let's just pretend
You say that quite often but pretty much every subscriber I know subscribes mainly for the international cards. Recording TV isn't new technology. I actually quite enjoy the Sunday morning 10am repeat, though Buncey does sod all for a hangover.
