Except he didn't. Show me one fight where he just rushes in and attacks. The Willard fight he boxed for the first minute and probed with various punches to make openings then he found one. Willard fell. Brennan was a beautiful display of boxing on Dempsey's part. Dempsey didn't just bore in and start slugging. Sounds like a romanticized version of boxing.

Life’s not always like that. That could be far too simplistic. There are lots of examples where you can throw out all of that . Bob Satterfeild vs Nino Valdes. Charlie Norkus vs Charlie Powell just off the top of my head.

The crux of your theory is size alone.

But here is well researched evidence another poster put on here one time.

Care to prove all your recent claims about the modern day fighters all being on steroids etc?

I have a hard time believing that Ali would 10 count Dempsey. Doubt that Young could put Dempsey on the canvas too.

And I do have a hard time seeing little Dempsey taking any punches from Lyle, Briggs or Morrison without going to sleep....

Given that Dempsey was never stopped anywhere close to his prime, who can say what it would take to put him to sleep?

What about a Fireman? What about drunkpunch Firpo crawling of the ground hurting him with the next random hayemaker?
Nevertheless, Dempsey did not face that kind of heavy handed fighters.

I think that even Dempsey's harshest critics, would acknowledge that fight was some time before his prime.
Couldn't put him away, even after knocking him out of the ring.
I think that is very debatable to be honest.

Dempsey fought a lot of big mean, and a lot of heavy hitters.

    Morris, Fulton, Willard, Firpo.

I see no reason to think that he is likely to fold when hit by somebody like Morrison or Briggs.

Just watch how shitty Firpo loads up on Dempsey after he crawls back into the ring. I do not need much more to see. That fighter was not good, looked very raw in general.
My post was about heavy handed fighters who knew how to get their mass on the spot.....

Dempsey-Lyle would be a war with Dempsey coming out on top. Briggs and Morrison would have their little chins shattered to pieces.

How come Tunney didn't knock Dempsey out of the ring? How come Brennan didn't knock Dempsey out of the ring? How come Willard didn't knock Dempsey out of the ring? How come Carpentier didn't? How come Sharkey didn't? Miske? Fulton? Gibbons?

Your entire analysis of Dempsey is completely based around the Firpo fight. Are you even capable of complex thought?
