1973 George Foreman vs 1919 Jack Dempsey

If you really had a problem with me and were genuinely offended by what I say and not just butthurt that I'm disproving your arguments repeatedly then you'd have put me on ignore a long time ago. Not shedding crocodile tears and trying to get other posters banned. From the looks of it, my posts get more approval than yours.

 

I seem to remember George fighting an undersized ATG swarmer a couple times. Can someone remind how those fights went?

 

The lower end of the heavyweight limit was 175. Frazier was about 30 lbs heavier...

Dempsey did exactly have the power to stun the old Willard and leaving alot of room for the old man to get up and up and up and up and up and up and up and up and up and without any proper recovery! And no more!! He proved it shot for shot over this round.

Do you honsetly see that happen, Willard beeing stunned against Foreman, just to find Foreman all over him after seconds with absolute no protection, one knee on the canvas, getting a Foreman hook unloaded on his still stunned head? You honsetly think you´d see a circus like that against George?

My 2 cents is this: Foreman is one of the most on dimensional, overrated and carefully matched heavyweights in history. With all of that being said he would absolutely squash Dempsey like a bug. Why? Because Dempsey is also one of the most overrated and carefully matched heavyweights in history. The difference being he was almost 40 pounds lighter than big George, short, weaker, didn't hit as hard, didn't take as good a punch, and didn't fight anywhere near the level of competition that Foreman did at the size Foreman was up against. How the **** do you get to a point where you can imagine a 189 pound guy who was heavily protected to the point of avoiding his two top contenders (one of whom was a middleweight) and refused to face any fighter who was both talented and black is going to beat George Foreman??? Its beyond ludicrous. More to the point, while I think Foreman is overrated, one dimensional and carefully matched Dempsey is exactly the type of fighter that Foreman would have been matched with to make him look good. A smaller guy who can be hurt and dropped, who comes right at you? TIMMMBERRR!
