He’s lucky hes fighting non punchers because in his last few fights he’s eating jabs for fun. The hate is probably a bit exaggerated but that’s down to the fighter, manager and promoter saying he’s Roy Jones, Mayweather and Tyson rolled in to one amongst all the other **** they come out with...

I just can’t tell how much capacity he has to improve. His opponents don’t ask him any questions/put him in a situation where he has to adapt and find another way to win. He hasn’t had to dig deep. It’s all just pedestrian paced, take your time, pick your shots, not having to worry at all about what might come back because none of them can crack an egg. There is no progression of levels.

I don’t want to knock the lad and I hope he goes on and does something great in the division, but I think although he carries power, I think his lack of solid fundamentals would be exposed hugely by a decent light-heavy. This might be a poor comparison but he reminds me of Ohara Davies. One dimensional, big puncher but would get out-boxed as soon as he stepped up against someone with a good amateur pedigree.

    Look at Josh Taylor.

In his 13th professional fight he’s ranked number 2 and takes on 1 for the mandatory position with the WBC. Yarde has been lingering in number 2 with the WBO for a year now and has still only faced one top 50 fighter from my knowledge?

You can bring up the amateur career etc well then don’t turn professional if you’re not ready! Or don’t purposely get an inflated ranking through a carefully selected padded record.

There are questions whether he is even British level. Surely now it needs addressing. His next fight against someone like a Buglioni, he’d still be clear odds on favourite but it’s a reputable name and answers some questions that continue to linger.

I watched a bit of sek last week and realised how safe an opponent he was.

Yarde keeps fighting feather fisted opponents which tells me he’s chinny

He’s kind of got himself in a position where the fans have had enough! Above British level but Ducks beterbiev. Only so many eurobums you can fight

I think he’ll fight buglioni next

This thread should be a sticky in British forum until Yarde steps up. It's nearing it's 1 year anniversary ffs.

Jeez there are some real childish posts on this thread, I’m even seeing words like hatred! ffs it’s not that serious lads.

If Yarde wants to continue to fight bums, let him- it’s not hurting anybody. It’s his life, his career etc, let them work at their own pace, what’s the rush?

Despite what most are saying, they have been pretty logical with their plans. He’s not ready for the elite and “Timing is everything” as they keep saying. The trainer said that he wanted him to fight a southpaw to tick that box then he’s ready to let him go, so let’s see what they do with him from here.

Frank committed himself on tv that he wants Yarde to fight for a major title by the of the year- by that I can only think they are targeting Boesell for the European which would be an acceptable fight which we should all agree with.

As for the WBO no 2 thing, again it’s not that serious - franks got the organisation in his pocket, and their officials are always over here on jolly’s when Yarde is fighting and franks other WBO fights. If Kovalev loses to a bum or the title becomes vacant for whatever reason, Frank will probably swoop Yarde in if the circumstances are right, that’s all it comes down to really.

I can see wat your saying but the main issue is his being matched very softly. He needs a proper test b4 thinking of world or European titles. A fighter coming to win and not a push over. Has yarde had a difficult round to date never mind a tough fight. Ask the likes of bjs josh Warrington they had tough fights building them to the world stage. No question marks against them wen they had their shot. I question cud he beat buglinio burton Johnson at domestic level never mind world level. He was breathing heavy after 6 rounds Saturday at a pace he dictated without taking a shot. Wen he steps up its a different game.

Sjekola won the bronze at the 12th World Boxing Championships in Bangkok I don't think he was a bad opponent at all.

I think the Boesel fight would be great for him. I know Yarde is ranked higher than him on boxrec but it would actually be a step up as opposed to these sideways fights he’s been having. It’s progression and for a European title against a non puncher who couldn’t get Yarde’s old adversary Tony Irrelevant out in the 12 so he poses little threat.

I wonder if the title could be for the IBO against Murat though? Build him up as a world champion?
