Last generation we had wlad who was obviously more proven and just plain better than David Haye But Haye had that big mouth which everyone loves and actually managed to convince people that Klitschko was ducking him! Here are some parallels between Haye and Wilder Both only had a punchers chance vs klit/AJ Both have proven way less than klitschko/aj Both have really annoying loudmouth fans Both are really annoying loudmouths Both have convinced a lot of people that klitschko/aj are ducking them even though that makes zero sense Both are the B side but dont seem to understand it
Yeah, it's a decent comparison. Wilder is way more irritating than even Haye was, however, which is really saying something. And Haye actually looked the part when winning; he didn't look like a completely clueless flailing spongaloid high on the fumes of his own anus.
Did you see the Thompson/Bellew/Wlad/Valuev fights? Apparently not. Matchroom wants AJ as the next boring, stick move'n'hold merchant so they can continue milking endorsements so Anthony can continue to drive around London sink estates dishing out money to "the yout dem", an act which doesn't exactly fit in with his carefully managed PR profile. Wilder is the only real threat to this gravy-train. He knows it, Eddie knows it, you know it.
I cant see it. Haye won WBA WBC WBO Ring CW titles and the WBA HW title all within something like 24 fights. Often as the away fighter. Haye holds greater wins in a far shorter space of time and im not talking P4P between his CW wins and Wilders HW wins im saying at HW. Haye beat Valuev who is a far greater win than any of Wilders IMO and Ruiz who was arguably Americas best HW of the decade at the time. Haye did alot more in alot less fights and was a CW who rose up
If Haye was the B side it wasnt by much. He was a PPV fighter at that time I could be wrong but cant recall Wladimirs fight before Haye, with Peter being PPV and I know a close friend of mine who is German. His parents watched it and I dont think they follow boxing enough to have paid for it. Hayes fight before Wladimir was PPV
AJ and Haye are both overrated brits, so I’m not sure if wilder or Juishua resembles haye more. Imo Haye from 2011 would KO AJ and Wilder.
I dont think AJ is overrated, he is the WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO heavyweight champion at 24-0 Thats pretty good whichever way you wanna spin it.
Haye was about 6ft2 with relatively short arms and he had no interest in fighting on the inside. He had to fight a 6ft6 guy with much longer arms with 1 punch KO power. Wlad was also an expert at not engaging and controlling the fight with his lead hand. Haye was not a 1 punch knockout artist at HW also. Wilder is taller than AJ and has at least the same reach. Wilder has insane 1 punch power and AJ doesn't at all. AJs jab is nowhere near Wlads and his ring generalship is much worse. Those simple differences make the Wilder/Haye comparison pretty bogus. Haye had a much greater challenge in Wlad than Wilder does in AJ. Only real similarity is both Wilder and Haye are brash and talk a lot of sheet. Haye was a better fighter P4P than Wilder is, no doubt about it, but against Wlad he his chances were always poor.
Yeah everyone says that about Haye now after the fact. About Wilder they will say he had no defence, a dodgy chin, didnt move his head, had no skills, his best win was a 45 year old who he was saved by the doctor against, etc etc etc. Its just another one of those where everyone after the fight will say they "knew" when most of them do not.
I always saw David Haye as this generations David Haye. He only retired a week ago. Wilder just reminds me of a throw back to the 1990,s American heavyweight scene, hes got the loud brash mouth with a catchphrase, got the mask, wears alot of gold and dresses like a pimp.
Had? Wilder didn't have any chance yet because Hearns was delaying the fight agreement for too long because he is so unsure of his fighter taking the risk vs. Wilder. I would rate Ortiz and Parker as equal. Beating 40-yr old Klitschko is an accomplishment but not enough to be considered as having "proven way more". Wilder has fans? All I hear is even Americans calling him a disgrace for the sport. Will of course change their opinion instantly if he beats AJ. That's true, but Haye was already beaten once when he fought Klitschko. Wilder isn't. It doens't make sense for you but it does for AJ/Hearns. That's why there's still no fight agreement although the 50Mio offer was made to AJ/Hearns. That was true, but now Wilder agreed to go to Britain.
