Calzaghe vs Ward break down of strengths? Very even across board

Joe would never have entered the Super Six or signed on the dotted line to fight Kovalev.

Ward clearly lost that first fight against Kovalev, but he actually made it. No way in hell Joe does.

Joe's best win is Kessler then it falls off a cliff to a 44 year old Hopkins. Andre beat Kessler much worse, and beat Kovalev in the rematch, and actually cleaned out a 168 pound division with more talent in it than the washed up Eubank and shot RJJ. ****, Joe fought Mario Veit twice AS CHAMPION. What a joke.

 

Eubank was 32, he wasn't washed in any way, plus Calzaghe beat a Kessler who was unbeaten and on the top of his game and didn't need to foul en route to a W.

As for Veit, Hopkins fought Robert Allen 3 times.....I'll leave it there.

 

Ward fought Kessler 2 years later, nearly to the day. Mikkel had boxed fewer than 20 rounds in between. There wasn't a big difference in the Kessler that fought either man. And I've left sparring sessions looking worse than Mikkel left the ring after Joe.

Eubank would never win another fight after Joe. He was toast.
RJJ was shot, completely. Joe's the only guy of note to NOT knock him out.

Edwin Rodriguez would probably be Joe's third best win. Seriously. That's how thin Joe's resume is. And he's not in Andre's top 5.

Joe has no counterpart to even Froch.

Ward needing to foul to win is your opinion and i couldn't care less about it because its wrong. How many butts landed against Kessler isn't a matter of opinion since the exact number can be easily proven. Ward head butting Kessler to victory is a myth peddled by the haters.
One butt was accidental and the other in the 10th round was dubious. By the 10th round Kessler had already lost every round which proves Ward didn't need any butts to completely dominate Kessler.

Froch would get shut out, he arguably lost to Dirrell, was lucky against Taylor and lost to semi shot Kessler.

Actually I got it mixed up, it was Reiss who said there was at least 5 "accidental" headbutt....it was Bernstein who described him as a Billy Goat.

 

He fought DLH in 2004, yet Hakkar was instead of Calzaghe in 2003.

So now all of a sudden ODLH who got a gift over Sturm is a better win at 160 than moving up to fight Joe at 168....yeah....but no.
