I myself believe Holifield took HGH to make the move to heavyweight, he looked like a totally different fighter physically at heavyweight. Also, it just seems he put on the muscle too fast to be all natural, not too mention his heart scare and, the "Evan Fields" situation. Just my opinion, thoughts?

Of course he did - but he also trained his a$$ off. The "supplements" help, but are useless without the groundwork ...

Juiced big time. Look how his neck varies in different fights. I've worked my neck for over 20 yrs drug free and its impossible to get results like Evander if your not on the gear.

He looked like a cartoon character in the Tyson fights. I smile at the fact those fights are still seen as good vs evil when the 'good guy' was the most blatant PED user I've seen since Ben Johnson.

Of course he juiced, just the whole Balco/Evan Fields situation confirms it.

Where do you see his neck varying in size AFTER he bulked up to HW? You mean when he was a cruiser, or a 205 lb. HW, compared to later? He always had a disproportionate neck, & drugs must have created or acentuated it.
I understand there are more testosterone receptors around the traps, hence juiced guys TEND to be bigger there.

    Yoou do boxing neck exercises?
The one quibble I have with you is that there are always a small % who can develop very large proportions naturally. Up to a certain point.
I know of no decent indication that Tyson ever juiced. Yet at something under 6', & when low body fat had a 19 3/4" neck.

Even if you are a HW, you & me & most folks could never get that neck.
But a few can. And many might if they drug upo & train effectively.

Someone else said steroids are bodybuilding, distinguishing them from HgH.
Huh? The latter has long been used & effective for bodybuilding & assorted strength & size purposes too.

Breaking News!!! J.F. Kennedy has been assasinated.

    Of course he was. Jeeez.

Do you think he was the only one?

90% of the top 10 from 1980 onwards weighed 10+ pounds more than a natural bodybuilder who only lifts weights does at the same leanness.
Take it from someone who has been lifting since he was 15. Very few of the top guys were natural.

    Ain't that right @Unforgiven
Most people who have been lifting for more than a few years know that 5'10 200 with abs rarely happens even after years of lifting(220 lean without lifting at 20 years old just makes it even more absurd)

And If the champ is on it you either get on it too or purposely give up a huge disadvantage and nobody competitive and driven enough to fight themselves into the top spots in a sport as brutal as boxing would ever give up an edge like that. Once one of the top guys is on, I imagine everyone else knows within months and tries it themselves, lest they be left behind.

So best just to accept the way things were and move on since everyone being on means nobody had a real advantage of that department anyway

Tyson cheated on drug tests later his career but claims it was for weed and coke. He doesn't deserve a free pass though if his urine wasn't even in the samples.

This. Once steroids started being a thing, it's hard to believe that not just about everone wasn't on it. Not taking it would mean that your honesty put you in a huge disadvantage againmst the many you had good reason to Believe used it. And who wants to put themselves in a huge disadvantage, especially when your livelihood is at stake? It becomes a kind of prisoner's dilemma kind of thing.
