Povetkin is a lamb to the slaughter. I give him a 5% chance.

Wlad came in off looking "bad" against jennings and fury

Povetkin looked bad against hamer and price

Also clearly Joshua has improved his discipline since the klitschko fight

But we all know you are a troll/hater so meh

Pov of 5 years ago roided to the forehead with power-peds injected into his biceps would of had a very good chance yes,

    Now? not so much.

Povetkin has a 10% chance of beating Joshua, you only have to see the Marius Wach and David price performances to know a big man with power and a jab is gunna shut this midget out. Povetkin is gunna get beaten up and mostly koed

I think Povetkin is probably too old for this. I've said elsewhere that a Joshua in tip top form and with a proper gameplan, I favour 60-40 over Povetkin.

    That said.

    * Takam gave AJ a good fight and Povetkin > Takam
    * Povetkin is aggressive and will push the pace. Joshua has gassing problems.
    * Povetkin hits damn hard and in combination. If he gets AJ hurt he won't let him off the hook like Wlad
    * Povetkin has a good chin and slips punches well. Joshua may not find it so easy to land on him.
    * Povetkin has a good gas tank when he's trained hard. He threw plenty leather in his last fights and was fine

    maybe most importantly

    * This is Povetkin's last chance. He's at the OK Corral now and he's got to come out the winner. I believe that this will give him the motivation to come in at his best, just the way Corrie Sanders was motivated when he got his shot at Wlad. Joshua on the other hand may be overlooking this somewhat small, old Russian who already failed against Wlad where AJ succeeded.

AJ may be thinking of Wilder and the mega-millions fight.

    AJ may be getting KTFO.

I don't agree, but I agree with your angle, Povetkin is a much tougher challenger than people give him credit for, his style, toughness and resume speaks for itself. Most people forget that Povetkin has never been stopped in his career, against much bigger guys at the top of the division for 10 years. Povetkin will push and test Joshua in ways he has never been before, he's a much tougher and trickier customer than given credit and has proven his mettle against the big boys.

You have to rate Povvy ...BUT... unless Pricey was lucky & Povo was having an "Off" night he didn't look that impressive against Price ?...Unless Price has gone up a few levels which I seriously doubt!
Joshua is a Robot though & not a natural fighter at all...

The things that will trouble Joshua is Povetkin's movement coming forward. The constant head, body and foot movement from Takam and Parker clearly slowed Joshua up when they were on the backfoot, Joshua wont like it when Povetkin is doing it coming forward. Also Povetkin has a very low stance and centre of gravity to get on the inside, awkward winging shots and is an excellent combination puncher once he gets in there. What worries me about Povetkin is the same thing that worried me about Ortiz. At his age his legs and movement are going on him, he probably won't be able to keep it up for 12 rounds against Joshua. But then again, in potentially his last fight, no doubt he will give it his all and go hell for leather. Will be a good fight.

Povetkin 3, 4 or 5 years ago would have probably had a decent chance vs current AJ but Povetkin off the juice and in his late 30s is admittedly still a dangerous Top 10 HW but nowhere near to trouble AJ like he fought vs Parker. Parker is a way faster and and quicker on his feet than Povetkin and still wasn't able to create enough dangerous situations at the inside although he fought to survive i can't see Povetkin doing it better as he is even smaller than Parker and obviously not that fast.

In my opinion there are two possible scenarios, maybe they are getting combined:
    1. AJ outboxing and outpointing Povetkin for 12 rounds and winning a wide decision
    2. AJ landing a big counter after Povetkin trying some of his sneaky attacks like he was rocked vs Pricey

I can't see Povetkin winning this tbh.
