hahaha so he wasnt semi retired when he beat froch in denmark.

    hahaha you make no sense.

joe ran from a denmark rematch of course, hahaha, to keep his zero.

I think some of you need to remember this is all hypothetical. Your little tit for tat row is nonsensical. If you read over the comments both of you posted you would realise that.... Neither of you can be right they never fought and never will.

Why would he need to rematch a guy he clearly beat?

Froch only had the rematch because he couldn't beat Kessler the first time around proving that he wouldn't even of been top 2 in Calzaghes era.

TBH with Frochs insecurities it's a good job he never got to fight Calzaghe.

ah true, 8 years on, I have no issue with facts.

still, calzaghe ran from froch to barely eek out against the now 43 year old loser of taylor hopkins, and froch in place smashed the winner of taylor hopkins.

theres no doubt whats going on there, calzaghe running from a good smashing after watching froch smash pascal and reid to peices. and joe did the right think to run to a 43 year old, given hindsight, but only just.

my point is that while a c level fighter, he compares favorably to most of Joe's best wins. Saying top 3 was a stretch, but it started the discussion.

Joe has that 1 a level win and a high B win in Hopkins, but that's really it.

Simply put, Kessler and Hopkins are the only opponents of Joe who did anything notable after they fought Joe, which is evidence of how shot guys like Eubank and RJJ were by the time Joe fought them, and how poor guys like Veit and Manfredo were to begin with.

Meanwhile, Ward beat several men who went on to score significant wins and/or have current careers that are still relevant and have promise. And saying he only did so by fouling just comes off a sour grapes.

to be fair we dont know how manfredos punch-out tactic would have worked on joe, since the welsh ref stpped it after joe had missed with three punches (some of which caught the ref, i believe but the ref didnt notice at all...might have been another calzaghe fight mind you, its been a while).

i tihnk joe would have outpointed the tv show boxer to be fair.
