Price is one of the hardest punchers in the sport, Povetkin stayed upright after taking a flush hook right on the button he didn't see coming. Wilder would be in a coma if he took a shot like that.
povetkins performance against price was enough to see he has no chance vs aj.. but he deserves a payday hes been around ages. so make it happen.
Why not go one step further? If joshua doesn't KILL povetkin with the first punch landed he is a complete bum
Joshua by KO/TKO. The Price fight was quite telling. I’m not talking about Povetkin getting caught, but rather that when he seemed to have Price on the back foot, with an opportunity to unload, he put perhaps two or three punches together before regrouping. I don’t know if this is a stamina issue, but he’ll need to bring more to get Joshua flapping, unless he catches him coming in.
This. If Povetkin comes in shape and shows up ready to go to war I expect him to give Joshua a tough fight, but with Joshua getting the decision. Due to age I think Povetkin will start strong, but fade in the later rounds.
I think Joshua is guna play this one safe again like he did against Parker. Povetkin will be a bit braver than Parker so there will be oppertunities for Joshua to land his big shots but only 1 at a time and im not sure Joshua is guna 1 shot stop the Russian. Wide UD Joshua. Not that Povetkin landing a big one on Joshua and stopping him isnt a possibility. He may be aging, he may be slowing down, he may struggle with big fighters with a good jab but he still has skills and still has the killer instinct.
I voted AJ but believe this to be a very dangerous fight for AJ Povetkin is dangerous and can send AJ to the canvas at any time. We have to take into account his age, that’s why I’m picking AJ
When Sky inevitably collapses due to streaming services for boxing and football taking over, then Hearn will be gone. All he is, is a dinosaur parasite following his father’s legacy. Born with a silver spoon. But how boxing content is shared is changing and he doesn’t have the technical know how to adjust- he is also balls deep in Sky which has no long term future. He has 5 years tops to milk AJ and won’t put him up against Wilder ever.
You give Povetkin too much credit. Anything short of Joshua knocking Povetkin's head clean off his shoulders and into row Z in the first 10 seconds would expose Joshua as a fraud.
