Johnsons 32 now so its now or never really. Plus Beterbiev is no spring chicken at 33 and given how huge he is at the weight, it only needs him to take his eye off the ball in training, struggle with the weight cut and underestimate Johnson and we could just be in for a surprise.

Being as the fights in the states aswell, the fight will be fought on an even keel. If Johnson goes in with the same mentality as he did against Buglioni it could be interesting for a few rounds at least. Still heavily fancy Beterbiev thou ultimately.

He was offered the fight and said yes instantly. Hearn then said he will only have him fight if the money is right

Johnson has a decent shot here, I'm not convinced Beterbiev has this amazing chin, he was badly rocked in the amateurs from a left hook to the temple, which Callum throws very well, and his aggression could make him even more susceptible to its effects, enhancing the overall impact. There's also evidence that Callum may pack similar power as Beterbiev, or at the very least in the ballpark. He did to Grafka something Buatsi, Lennox Clarke and Hefforn couldn't do, and it took Zach Parker 5 rounds to do. Also his vicious KO of Shihepo was far more impressive than Papin's a few days ago, and Aleksei is a huge Cruiserweight. Then the blowout of Buglioni, who soaked up non stop bombs from Burton and Chudinov, so if Callum fights Beterbiev in a similar fashion to how he fought Shihepo, keep an incredibly tight high guard, tie up when necessary and roughhouse on the inside, he may wear down Beterbiev for a late KO, or possibly if he jumps on him and catches him cold early, he can pull this off.

Johnson has fought one round in 2 years and sent away to fight a killer. Typical Hearn.:boxing1

So are you saying Callum should’ve turned down a title shot?

IF you are Johnson do you just rush out try throw everything at him in first few rounds?

Beterbiev can be hit and dropped and Johnson is a bigger puncher than the likes of page

Johnson has a really really good chance here but I just hope he makes weight, another Gallagher fighter don’t forget

Johnson is a big puncher, he's got a chance if his chin can hold out.

Here's the shot I was talking about in the amateurs that rocked him to his core, even with headgear on, that looks very similar to the kind of hooks Callum throws. His opponent is Pavel Nikitayev.
