I am from the UK and a big AJ fan, but this negotiations have exasperated me as a fan.

The fight is as big as it would get in the UK and Hearn clearly didn't want the fight.

I could forgive an interim fight if they were going to tee off in Vegas (a no brainer financially) If the fight was at 4am it would still do 1mil UK PPV and despite the fact none of them are PPV stars in the US it's an easy sell. 2 unbeaten KO artists who articulate themselves.

Hearn turned his back on the US money as he thought it would deter Wilder, who then called his bluff.

AJ might want the fight (who knows) but its clear to me the side that want it more than another.

based on what we have been told, it seems obvious to me that it is Wilder's sides fault. Literally, all they have to do is add the amendments of the date and venue to the contract, send it back signed and we have a fight. forget all the other bull****, the only thing stopping the fight from happening is them not signing

You sound exactly like and use the exact same debunked arguments as every Deontay 'The Golden Duck' Wilder fan. Masquerading much?

Rubbish. Of course he wanted the fight. Why would he have engaged in 3 months of negotiations, constantly chasing Wilder and his team if he "didn't want it".

You've just fallen for the **** coming out of Deontay's mouth without actually looking at the facts. Wilder and his team knew about the pressure from the WBA and still dragged their feet. They mulled over the offer for 4 weeks then sat on the contract for 6 days before even suggesting amendments, then said the amendments would follow in another 6 days. Too late, the WBA had already granted two months of extensions. When the 24 hour deadline was announced, Wilder's team ignored it, despite repeated warnings. You do understand the concept of a mandatory defence don't you?

Wilder's record speaks for itself. Open your eyes.

Exactly. Team Wilder have messed about and stalled for time so that AJ would have no choice but to eventually turn the fight down and fight Povetkin instead. Thereby giving Shirley and co a way out but saving face.
Eddie has already said the deal is still on the table to fight in April at Wembley instead.
Its obvious matchroom are serious about making the fight. Lets see if Wilder is.
Only Joshua can give him the mega payday and if Breazeale beats him he can kiss goodbye to that!

All this AJ / Wilder drama will be even funnier if Joshua doesn't make it past Povetkin.

My joy will have no bounds if Wilder fights Povetkin and is carried out on a stretcher together with his bummer mask.

That's why Wilder is taking a huge risk. If AJ a rematch vs Povetkin would happen.

Wilder had a chance to get on the train first and missed his opportunities

TBH what will probably happen is AJ winning on points as he takes the Wlad plan against Povetkin and stinks the joint out.

    Wilder will crush some can.

After that there will be another 3 months of drama as AJ and Wilder pout around like some horse-faced hoes fighting over a shrivelled rich guy on a soapie and exchange a series of offers and counter offers.

The actual fight might be worth watching but I fully expect Joshua to win as Wilder is just too hittable. If Wilder could develop some actual footwork, accuracy and a jab to go with his crazy man power he'd probably wipe the floor with Joshua. Instead he will trust in "da powa o da bomzquadd and da yulaverse" and lose by KO mid rounds.

That would be far more disappointing to me than Povetkin destroying both of them.

I'm not an AJ fanboy or anything, actually I'm indifferent towards him.

But I don't know how any sane unbiased person can follow what's gone on since the beginning of this borefest and concluded it's Matchroom/AJ stalling and not the clowns from across the pond.

I was an AJ fan up until a few weeks ago Eddie Hearn has a lot to do with it but let's face it if Anthony Joshua wanted to fight Wilder he would make the fight get done I am so disappointed and this is a huge blow for boxing. Boxing needs the heavyweight division to be good to really shine!

Don’t get the people slating Joshua and saying he is scared. Joshua latest/future opponents...

    19th - Wladimir Klitschko
    20th - Carlos Takam
    21st - Joseph Parker
    22nd - Povetkin (Probable)
    23rd - Wilder (Potential)

Minus having Ortiz in there it couldn’t be much stronger.

Now look at Wilders resume at that time

Im a disappointed AJ fan also, but im not disappointed in Joshua, Or Wilder, its the Promoters, managers, advisors that have ruined this. And they have only ruined it for now as long as both sides remain unbeaten this fight can still happen. Next year isnt too late. Frustrating yes, end of the world no.
