hes just saying its better than joes, dont put words in his mouth.

therefore the onus is on YOU to prove hes wrong, which you've chosen to avoid doing for 4 pages, pal. Better get a move on.

I gave you an outline above to help you out, pal, dont ignore help when you need it most.

Why are you getting involved in other people's posts?

Once again you've been on here all day, I'm off to the cinema with my son now....I'll await @DoubleJ and HIS response....not yours.

It isn't that Ward's is so great (it wasn't), it is that Joe's is pretty weak. RJJ was shot and Joe essentially drew with a 44 year old Hopkins.

Sullivan Barrera was a better win than the shell of RJJ that Joe fought. An RJJ that had been knocked cold in his last 3 notable fights, yet still managed to floor Joe.

Granted, Kovalev was never on the level as a prime Hopkins, but Joe didn't fight a prime Hopkins. A peak version of Kovalev was a bigger test than a 44 Hopkins, IMO. And I'm not alone. Andre ascended to the top of the P4P rankings after that fight, Joe didn't move after his win.

lets not forget that best calzaghe acheivement, kessler, was something green ward topped in his first smw title win, not like joe his last smw fight.

joe chose to face someone of kess level when he had nowhere else to go. ward just did it first thing he did in title fights, and kept goin leaving joe waaaay behind.

Exactly. There's never been a list of Joe's competition. Lots of shouts to 11 former champs, etc.

    Here's what I have:

    RJJ -- shot to bits.
Hopkins -- past prime but a solid win.
Kessler -- Joe's best win, but Andre beat him more thoroughly. Call this a tie.
Manfredo Jr. -- C level and gift stoppage
Bika -- B level and equaled by Andre.
Lacy -- C level although the win looked better at the time than it does in hindsight.

Not quite as deep as Kessler, Froch, AA, and Dawson with Green and Bika sprinkled in. Any other run will include dubious highlights such as Veit, Pudwill, etc.

Rating Joe as the #2 SMW is perfectly fair. Andre separated himself from Joe, but Joe was #1 prior to that.

Granted the division is fairly new to the boxing landscape and Joe earned that ranking more from quantity than quality, but I wouldn't discount that.

Ward wanting Buglioni or Smith is easily equal to fighting Veit, actually its way worse !

yeh i am not sure i agree with that, but i am ok with people thinking this.

In my eyes, for instance, Froch did more and has overtaken hmi for sure, perhaps Kessler did by making more unified defences. I would have Kessler and Joe about equal , since it was unresolved who as better when they were both uninjured.

There are a few other candidates in the past at SMW who probably did more than joe, I just cant recall them now. An American whose name I cant recall.

In terms of acheivement of course sven ottke did more, but its a fool who rates him H2H above any of the names above.

Calzaghe won, that is without a doubt, close fight yes, no one was screaming robbery though, and that was prime Kessler. Calzaghe was injured going in to every fight for 10 years plus,EVERY fight !

noone with hand injuries every fight would even be a boxer, so no that last bit is a lie but course he won, why did you write that?

I tihnk you meant to quote someone else, your post has nothing to do with my content, pal.

You said it was unresolved who was better as both were injured/uninjured?? I cant really understand it..And YES, Calzaghes hands were that ****ed he never threw punches with venom in sparring and hit the heavy bag without maximum power in training, he went in not 100% every fight down to it..What a fighter he was to adapt a different approach to what had took him to the very top in the first place, a different style to combat that problem

A peak version of Kovalev had his best win against both a Calzaghe victim and a Hopkins victory.

Also what made Barrerra so dangerous? He's never beaten a top fighter and his best wins prior to Ward was a shot Lacy and another Hopkins victim in Murat.
