    Thank you.
I'm doing that silly thing. Which a lot of us do....
    I'm trying to compile a 100 heavyweight list. I'm pretty confident from 1 - 30.
    My 31 - 40 ... I'm unsure

I'll pick him over Young and McVey and i'll guess he drops the decision to Witherspoon.

I see him as the kind of fighter who would be likely to split a series with all three of those mean.

Elmer would certainly knockout “our” Mcvey. It’s not a fair fight.

Not sure about the real Mcvey.

It is very hard to assess Elmer Ray as a fighter because he fought very soft opposition so much of the time. In addition, it is hard to find an impressive win by Ray over a top fighter. In fact, a number of his wins over top fighters were very close, especially his win by a highly disputed split decision over Ezzard Charles, who was outweighed by nearly twenty pounds. In a rematch, Charles knocked out Ray in the ninth round.

Ray beat much better fighters in Charles and Walcott despite being 36 years old. He had big time power, and Sam mcvey has little to no defense on film. I like Ray here clearly.

The guy beat jersey joe Walcott. And you've already mentioned Ezzard Charles. Both men in their prime.
