World Boxing Super Series Season 2 will feature 3 weight classes!Repeat of supermiddle confirmed.

My preference would be a lightweight as the third weight class. I am rooting for lightweight to happen. Lomachenko has said that he would be up for it, Mikey Garcia was up for it too, so we will see. Luke Campbell, Zepeda and Commey would make great competition. Commey has fight coming up on the 28th July, this would be a great tune up for competition and he is on the brink of title shot also. Beltran will fight Roman Andreev for the WBO title on 25th August, so this a big push for lightweight competition as well.

 

Inoe's promoter said that TV deal is a big stumbling stone and that there are other options for Inoue. He said that Japanese tv deal is a big issue and that he might sign deal with ESPN or ESPN+ and that is the issue as well. The promoter of Inoue doesn't want to burn bridges with participation Inoe in WBSS 2, this is not occasion where this is a flexible deal from Inoue's promoter's standpoint.

 

Cruiser is the best and most stacked and most exciting division in boxing. And I don't know how you are talking derogatory about those 'bunch of Eastern European/Russian guys' Those 'bunch of Eastern European/Russian guys' are absolute BEASTS and the reason why it's the best division in boxing.

 

Don't understand why they are doing a third weight class anyway, two is enough..

 

Super Middle didn't draw together the best last time. Groves is pretty much the only known commodity in the first 168 pound series.

Seen a few posts on this thread saying Lipinets is going into the WBSS. He isn't FYI. According to him he's been overlooked. He also said he'll be fighting on the Garcia vs Easter card.

 

And he’ll be moving up to welterweight for the fight

I'm rather suprised that the WBSS don't want Lipinets, I think he is one of the best fighters currently in the division.

With you tweeting to Lipinets, I remembered one time when one guy I know somehow became friends with Jose Aldo (back when Aldo was still the UFC champion) on Facebook and in the comment section he wrote this.

"You little MMA ****, I train boxing and I will kick your ****ing ass.''
