It's not a very good shout out. He fought Derrick Gainer in his 3rd defense and Marquez in his 5th. In actual discussion of the John/Marquez fight and posting round by round scores over the years, almost all respectable opinions conclude a John victory. No respectable opinion concludes a robbery. It was indeed that for what, almost a decade before he "stepped up" and faced Porter. And he proved me wrong. But that doesn't change how long it took for him to test himself against a true top guy.
George Foreman's final title run pretty bad. He was lineal champion and made defenses against Axel Schulz, Crawford Grimsley, and Lou Savarese in two years.

Way off. The majority of guys Stevenson beat were pretty good after Dawson. Dimitry Sukhotskiy was the only stiff he fought. Foreman easily had a worse run.
