Bingo. Futch had to alter his style and perfect the bob and weave so he got hit less.

If only Sonny was 5 pounds heavier to match Foreman's 217, imagine what he might do then!!!!

Liston never ever proved his "huge" power against good big hws. Patterson? Please.. He was very good but a 184pounds . CLEVELAND WILLIAMS? LMAO.NEVER EVER IN THE HELL LISTON WOULD DO WITH FRAZIER WHAT HE DID WITH PATTERSON. NEVER!!!.
LISTON USED THE JAB AND HE DID NOT PUSH BACK THE PEOPLE LIKE FOREMAN DID, FRAZIER WAS MORE EFFECTIVE AGAINST GUYS THAT USED THE SKILL (liston)THAN HE WAS AGAINST THE SAVAGE STYLE OF.FOREMAN

Joe Louis proved his punching power against bigger men than Liston or prime Foreman did, even punching an AJ sized super heavy so hard as to make him spin around in a circle......will you rate Louis as a harder puncher than Foreman (if you did, it would be understandable)

No.. Louis fought 2 big bums.. Carnera and abe simon or the mediocre buddy baer that did put him out of ring.jack ohalloran was as big as carnera and foreman raped him in a one sided beating. Foreman PROVED in the ring that he was harder puncher than Liston.
Young Foreman stopped also huge mediocre guys like stamford harris, merl turnbow too...

But, but, but pounds are so important!!! 184? Patterson was 189 and 194 1/2!!!! In the rematch Liston was 215 1/2, just 2 pounds less than Foreman of the Frazier fight ;)

    Not much in it.

He doesn't have to do what he did to Patterson. Joe may go some rounds. Sonny may not spark him out like he did Floyd. Eventually I think Liston stops in. I think inside 5 is a good bet.

I suspect the post-Ali Liston underperformed because he knew he wasn't getting a 3rd shot at the title and was just fighting for cash and yet he still flattened some decent and rated heavies seemingly on memory. Frazier signs to fight Sonny in say 1967 and my money is on Liston training seriously and with awareness that Frazier was no Roger Rischer and comes in with something to prove and a bad attitude. In that scenario, I'll take Liston.

Frazier vs liston is a 50/50 fight, you are forgeting the fact that frazier could knock him the **** out too, frazier was never counted out for the count of 10 and this "ko" was only against a bigger puncher than liston, however sonny could be knocked out clean and cold

I think the green part is where Joe would have a problem. Read my previous posts. In 66 he was still developing. I do believe by 68 and later he takes Liston out. He was entering his prime and weaving and slipping better on the way in. He may have to get off the canvas but I think he grinds the old man down. In 66 Joe is more vulnerable.
