Perhaps Rigo could’ve been more exciting if Frampton, Santa Snooze, Mares and/or their managers/advisors/promoters didn’t lack the courage to face him at his natural fighting weight.

Maybe. But even his fight against Donaire wasn't that exciting if you are not a boxing purist.

Rigondeaux was only exciting when his opponents chose to go full ******.

I wish Cuban fighters wouldn't defect. I wish they would stay in Cuban and bore their own people to death.

That was totally unprofessional, and a punk move by Arum to claim Rigondeaux stunk it up in a fight where he broke Donaire's face. How do you bad mouth your own fighter like that? The Cuban should avoid Top Rank.

We’ll have to agree to disagree. Donaire was the bigger guy and Rigo did what he had to do to pick him apart AND punish him. Donaire was #5 P4P when he met Rigo #19 at the time. Although he managed to knock Rigo down, he ended up shamelessly riding his bicycle to avoid further damage to his eye. Nonito didn’t seem too anxious to make the fight exciting...

I heard a similar thing for Argilagos.. Any news on whether that was true or not?

Ramirez is such a big talent and is quite exciting for a Cuban boxer. Hope he is managed and promoted properly because he could be amazing

Argilagos is supposedly in USA, he is going to take a break from training and is already talking with a promoter to turn pro soon, that's what I read.
Ramirez is being searched by Cuban and Mexican authorities, he has a penal case open in Cuba for hitting a person, he was given the chance to train and compete but he is still doing his sentence back in Cuba.

What made it worse was Rigo was next thrown in with Agbeko as a main event. (Kirkland was on the undercard and drew better ratings that night)
It was absolutely a ridiculous move and it looked like sabotage.
The Agbeko fight happened 8 months later and i am still curious as to what happened in that time frame. What made Arum do that? There is no way it´s because Rigo whooped Donaire.
I think Rigo and his management got too egotistical and Arum had none of it. So he owed them a fight and boy did he **** them over with it.
The card was also up against the stacked SHO card. Judah-Malignaggi, Lara-Trout, Alexander-Porter, Bika-Dirrell.

That is why the government let him fly to mexico. What that case has to do with him deserting his country? His own government flew him to another country to train and fight.

Every Cuban has an open case back in Cuba. I hope he can make it to the USA. Such a talented athlete wasting his prime years for nothing.

Like Gavilan, Kid chocolate, Napoles, Legra, Nino Valdes, Florentino Fernandez, Urtiminio Ramos, Kid Paret, Casamayor, Hurtado, Luis Manuel Rodriguez (by the way, Cassius Clay learned a lot from this Cuban), Kid Tunero, Machado, Socarras, Romero, Hernandez, JC Gomez, Dorticos, Barrera, Gonzalez, Black Bill, even Ortiz. One boxer doesn't make a whole country.
