As a fan its a disappointment if the fight is abroad. What would be a bigger dissapointment is if the fight does not happen as i suspect it wont.

Obviously the tournament has had a lot of investment from Saudi.

Imagine the Smith mob trying to get an English breakfast in Jeddah! Remember what happened to McDonnell

It needs to happen for the credibility of the tournament IMO.

I have a gut feeling Groves will pull out. Groves is a confident guy but i feel hes weary of Smith and he wont be 100% and will pull out. If he does its a disgrace world titles are not left in tournament. I hope i am wrong, fight i have wanted to see for sometime.

If it were to happen (which I’m still not convinced) then Smith should pull out and chase a title fight elsewhere instead of a dangerous Eubank fight for nothing.

No he should stay in tournament, win it as many would then class him as the best fighter in division. Plus the final is worth a few million quid. As for hard nights work i disagree on that m8, think he stops Eubank inside 6. Eubank is tailor made for him.

I think Sauerland has been struggling to get the money for the purses together for a while, and is now selling it off to the highest bidder.

Massive Smith fan and with him being a local lad I’ve followed his career closely. Callum will have bigger size advantages than Groves had, he’s absolutely huge at the weight but his last two performances have got me questioning how good he actually is. I’ve backed him to win the WBSS pre tournament and he was the favourite. I think Groves is the favourite now. If Callum takes his foot off the gas for one minute against Eubank he will be in trouble. Callum can look a bit lazy and lethargic, Eubanks workrate will win him rounds and his chin is granite.

Callum Smith only seems to now get up for a fight when people think he might lose. Not saying thats the right attitude to have, but it is what i see. Eubanks workrate is a myth, against Saunders and Groves he never done nothing for first 6 rounds hence why he had energy late on. Forget reach, if he stands up close to Callum Smith who i believe is the best up close fighter in British Boxing then he will be stopped.

The only benefit of going abroad is the absence of a cataclysmically rotten Brittish referee and blind drunk judges.

It's sad that this fight will not happen in the UK. Obviously money is the motivating factor that it wont but everything from the build up to the fight night atmosphere will turn this into a shell of what it could have been.

    No suprise.
Saudi Arabia probably invested in the WBSS, and because the Usyk vs Gassiev fight took place in Russia, they want their investment back.
