Louis, Marciano,SRR,Gene Fullmer,Lamotta, Hagler, FMJ, Froch, Holyfield, Lewis,Frazier There’s too many to list those are just off the top of m head
How bout some contender types who fought their best even though they were always b sides... Porky Medina, Sakio Bika, Adrian Granados, Josito Lopez,
From the OP list, I would have to go for Froch because he was by far the least talented fighter of those mentioned. His elite 'skill' was the will to win, and the heart beat of determination is mental strength. His Taylor stoppage and fighting back from being dropped heavily by Groves are stand-out examples of wins 99% of boxers would not have been able to pull out of the bag...
Groves 1, Froch was out skilled, didn't possess the heavier punch, got dropped very heavy cold...How he came back is a credit to his mental toughness.. As tough as they come
Yep, I was going to mention this as well. Floyd, Loma and Ward have all the skill in the world and by comparison, haven't had to deal with that much adversity. They have advantages over most of their opponents so of course they will believe they will win. But you have guys who are outskilled and outgunned in every fight and keep fighting. That to me is much more admirable.. E.g. Someone like Gatti. So I can't call any of these guys as the most mentally tough ever when you have guys like that.
Their mental toughness is what enables them to avoid adversity, The ability to keep your composure and get drawn into a fight is intelligent mental toughness, This is the definition of a containment professional. Most guy's can't resist the urge to get drawn into a fight, let the game plan go out the window and start recklessly trading. Being easily drawn into a fight and thus a war is a mental weakness and not very intelligent. That's not to say they are not mentally tough in other area's it willing to get drawn into a fight and take punishment, tough yes, intelligent no. They have strengths and weaknesses.
lol, Fluid, the guy that needs his bouncer refs in the ring, all the judges, unlimited access to retroactive TUEs... that is not what I call mentally tough.
What about when he fought Mosley and was rocked what about when he was rocked against corley? He didn't fall apart he still found a way to win and dominate. All that other **** is irrelevant you can't question his mental toughness in the ring. PBF was as mentally tough as they come, haters like you look stupid trying to deny it or don't actually know what to be mentally tough in the ring is.
Mentally tough to sucker punch Ortiz who was apologizing, yea ok? Go away with this ludicrous crap demo.
