Massive fan of GGG but he ducked him... if he wasn't going to fight Canelo next I'm sure he would have accepted the Derevyachenko fight but the risk outweighed the reward, if GGG got beat he would have missed out on £40m.
And him vs Derevyachenko is 80-20 fight for GGG so there was a possiblity of an unpset.

I have no doubts he'd face him with both having a full camp for one another. But under the circumstances, how many top teir gus actually have done this? Maybe a couple?

It was a duck. Vanes was a lame fight. Can not sugar coat this one.

I love GGG too but he ducked Dchenko. Some you guys have a hard time swallowing that.

HBO puts up only a 1m purse for the fight assuming backlash from the Canelo pullout would hurt Golovkins numbers. This is out of Golovkin or Derevyanchenkos hands. After SD learns about the purse he doesn't want it anymore. Anyone with a brain could see that. This also applies to anyone else who called out GGG during the time. No top middleweight is fighting Golovkin for 400k, especially when they have the mandatory status. This was confirmed by the tweet talking about the Finkel vs Hearn negotiations. It wasn't a duck by either side.

Anyone saying anything else has a clear bias.

Seems like you have the clear bias since SD did not say he didn't want the fight and you just said that he didn't. In fact, team GGG never even considered him as an opponent and probably never will, hence the reason he opted to be stripped. GGG doesn't even want to fight Jermall Charlo who more popular than Derevyanchenko ad by considerable margins.

Also, IBF warned GGG about being stripped, the fight didn't have to be May 5th. It could have been pushed a few weeks or even a couple of months. Keeping the May th date was Team GGGs choice.

Golovkin will not fight Derevyanchenko anytime soon, bank on that.

There's no point in Derevyanchenkos team publicly stating they don't want it. But regarding tweets about the negotiations between SD and Jacobs it was said that SDs team wasn't interested in getting paid 400k for Golovkin which was all that he could get paid if he were to fight on the May date since mandatory status wasn't being enforced for that. Afterwards Golovkin was stripped for choosing Canelo over SD. I don't consider fighting a superior opponent a duck. I'm not partically invested in this enough to hunt down the tweet but it shouldn't be that hard to find. It was posted in here within the last few days is all I know.
