So obviously Max can't beat Louis cos in this scenario he doesn't exist,
But would Schmeling have managed another crack at the title.?
Or any of the past champs, Sharkey Bear etc in this barren no Joe Louis world ?

Perhaps. He may have gotten a shot at Braddock and many thought he had what it took to win. I think he was robbed against Sharkey

    Yes.

Only the commissions could have stopped him!

They could have brought out a battered Baer as their last hope!

Schmeling vs Baer 1933. One of the few times Max Baer was really bissed off going into a fight.

We'd have had Braddock has Champ .Then as u say ,unless he's prevented ,max S gets a shot at him .Schmeling probably win's that .Not sure what happen s then on in ,a lot of politic s involved. At that point does Germany keep the belt or try to ,on ice?
With out Joe about it s really hard to see just where the title end's up .

I think Schmeling could do it. I think he could beat Baer handily too, if he'd used a different strategy.

That could have been one option, to go for a rematch with Baer .Max S could have won that ,like u say with different tactics .Wonder how different he'd have been rated now if he'd beaten Braddock and Baer ?

I personally don't rate either terribly highly so I think Schmeling would have been seen as a fair bit better, and Louis fans would be happier into the bargain.

He would beat Braddock, but without the Louis win I don't think he would be in the mix and would gradually fade away.

I read that the Schmeling/Louis 1 fight was blacked out in Germany because they didn't want it known that a German fighter had lost to a black fighter. Only Hitler and his officials listened to the fight by radio. In the 12th round when Schmeling stopped Louis one of Hitler's officials stated and I quote "I cannot believe it, Schmeling has beaten the negro".
