Was Pacquaio vs Matthyse rigged?

I don't understand when people say fights are rigged. If you think that is possible, then how can a person really enjoy the sport of boxing, and how can you say any fight you think had a surprising result was not rigged. It makes the whole sport questionable. So loving a sport which is rigged would be hard for anyone. I never thought the sport was rigged, I think there are hometown decisions which normally happen when the crowd reacts more to one fighter than another and the judges are affected by the difference. That is not a rig but expected, which is why people think fighting in someone's hometown is gutsy. Like when Ray Leonard beat Marvin. Had that been two guys boxing without the famous names Marvin might have won since he was the one more aggressive. I don't think the sport is rigged. I cannot say it ever happened in the small venues in little towns, but I wouldn't think too often.

No one single fight did. He's been in a ton of wars (Molina, Garcia) as well. He's just worn down and should retire. He can't beat top 10 fighters anymore.

Wtf? seeing the replay or not doesn't matter here. It wasn't about the uppercut being all that hard, as this wasn't a KO. Matthysse quit.

I can see it as a quit job. That's why I posed it as a question. Don't think it's unreasonable thinking it was rigged or Matthyse just didn't go in there to win. Matthyse wasn't throwing hard and devastating shots.

Uhh because the sport like every other can be rigged & has been rigged in certain cases for time immemorial. Exposed examples of this that are not hard to find. Kings-Lakers early 2000 playoffs is a theory proven flat conspiracy.

Sports were put here for bread & circus. Organized groups in power/mobs can undoubtedly rig fights

Not every event is rigged of course that's why we love the sport.

He felt Pacs power early and couldn't get into a consistent rhythm. He was outclassed by the sharper, more talented and fresher fighter. Not really a whole lot to it.

What? Pac put full leverage into the uppercut and landed it flush...

Lucas just sucks these days. He struggled to beat an unknown kickboxer last time. I picked Pac bc I watched Matthysse’s last fight.

There are people who still claim Jack Johnson took a paid for dive against Jess Willard...in the 27th round!

If you are talking about the 3rd knockdown, yes, Lucas quit. Spitting out a mouthguard while on your knees, fully coherent, means you are quitting. Basically it was a No Mas. And who can blame him, besides keyboard warriors?
Dude was getting smacked around all night with absolutely no hope of an effective response.

The first knockdown uppercut was legit. Second was questionable, third was No Mas.

I see your point, but I think Manny is good enough to win without a rigging, but the point is once someone mentions rigging it will be said most decision we don't agree with are rigged, not that there really was a rig.. I think it demeans the sport a little unless it can be proven.

Of course the Pac vs Matthysse fight was FIXED.

Pac vs. Margarito was also FIXED.
Pac vs Mosley was FIXED too.
    Pac vs Clottey was FIXED.
    Pac vs. Rios was FIXED.

Arum bribes them with lots of $$$$$$$$$.

Pac vs Cotto was real though. Not fixed.
Pac vs Marquez were also real too.

of course he was, several times he missed pac by a **** hair with shots i thought would decapitate pac if landed, i actually thought manny was going to make a mistake and get caught by one of those and get finished.
i swear, why do grown men find it so hard to set their ego and insecurities aside and just be real.
