That doesn't prove anything, just confirms what we already know. Both the IBF and WBA ordered a mandatory at the same time. Joshua won the IBF belt first a year before beating Wlad so that mandatory was more pressing than a mandatory for a belt he had only just won.

If Ortiz really wanted the fight, why sign with Haymon in Jan, instead of signing with Hearn, that would of made his mandatory a much more appealing option. Why not take the WBA to court like he threatened to do in May? He knew he wouldn't win and he knew he had a better chance at beating Wilder than Joshua.

Whoever Joshua didn't face from the 2 mandatories would of resulted in him being blamed for ducking the other, he was in a no win situation.

And remember Ortiz has a history of ducking. He twice ducked a fight vs Ustinov on short notice. Who's the likely ducker the guy who fought Wlad as a novice or the guy who's too scared to fight Ustinov to earn a mandatory shot.

Ortiz only had to wait in line and he'd have been fighting Joshua now for millions instead of Povetkin. But that clearly didn't appeal to him.

I've just listened to Barry Hearn on the Costello and Bunce podcast. Barry was laughing so hard and taking the **** out of Wilder and Haymon. He just fell short of calling them American dumb ****s but we knew that already

He ended up signing with Hearn and still he was given the runaround.

He probably didn't take the WBA to court because of the length court costs and time.

All of this why didn't Ortiz sign with hearn earlier or why didn't he go to court is irrevalant.

The facts are Joshua was ordered to defend against Ortiz and given 120 days to fulfill his obligation and instead got his slave master to get a special ducking permit for him so he could avoid being stripped.

Eddie hearn got on a plane and went out of his way to beg to fight Pulev instead, because he knew he would be routine work.

Have you ever seen Hearn beg Ortiz like this? What about Wilder, did he beg him like this?

Only Martin, Miller and Pulev have I seen Hearn so desperate for a fight be made between the two parties. And what do they all have in common? They're all easy pickings.

AJ stands to make more money fighting POV than Wilder, as Wilder wants a bigger cut

    Povetkin is dangerous

It was confirmed, You can't turn down a fake offer.

Eddie Hearn '' AJ’s not really swayed by an extra £10m or £15m. He’d rather do the fight over here in front of his fans.''

''There have been talks ongoing with Alexander Povetkin’s team because he’s our mandatory opponent (for the WBA title). If it’s not Wilder it will almost certainly be Povetkin, which is also a tough fight. We’ll see how the conversations go, but I’d say we’ve got another three weeks to go."

This guy is a coward and a disgrace to those belts around his waist.

Explain how Povetkin failing to pass a drug tests and subsequently getting banned is Wilder fault?

Is that how things work in your world? A guy takes steroids and can't fight, and the other guy is a coward because the fight can't happen?

    He's dead meat for sure.

Meanwhile Eddie Hearn has wasted no time getting his goons to churn out the ''Hes dangerous" narrative down everyone's throat so they empty their pockets to pay for this farcical mess.

    This is so predictable

"Alexander Povetkin is a serious serious threat"

"This is a serious, serious threat for Anthony Joshua. Everybody has been talking about the big fight between AJ and Deontay Wilder, but are they forgetting about Alexander Povetkin?

I think they might be. I think they have forgotten about his pedigree, they've forgotten about what he is capable of doing in the ring. Well, I have seen it so many times in this sport when fighters are already looking at their next fight, and I hope Joshua isn't doing the same.

Povetkin has been a world champion. He has had 35 fights and only lost one, and that was to Wladimir Klitschko. He can punch, he can bang, and the shot he took out David Price with, that left hook, is something we have seen Joshua open to as well.

He doesn't just have power, he has pace, and he will use the fact he will be much shorter to walk in low and put pressure on. He is not going to throw thousands of punches, but he's consistent and he was a world champion between 2011-2013. A big thing Povetkin has is experience.

Looking good against someone like him is one thing, but quite simply, Povetkin definitely has the capabilities of beating 'AJ'."

Didn't I say they would sell and talk Povetkin up to the gullible as some kind of serial killer?

And now they just went one step further and said his short tubby stature will be an advantage against the 6'6 muscle bound steroid freak.

AJ should win this comfortably by establishing range and working the jab and 1-2. He won't even need to box in the pocket until he gets tired in the second half. By then, Pov will be softened up considerably.

This fight isn't quite a farce, but it doesn't excite me either. If I'm home, I'll watch it. If not, I won't.
