OK, just invested the hour in watching again:

    Rd1 Canelo 10-9
    Rd2 Canelo 10-9
    Rd3 Even 10-10
    Rd4 Golovkin 10-9
    Rd5 Canelo 10-9
    Rd6 Canelo 10-9
    Rd7 Golovkin 10-9
    Rd8 Canelo 10-9
    Rd9 Golovkin 10-9
    Rd10 Canelo 10-9
    Rd11 Golovkin 10-9
    Rd12 Canelo 10-9

116-112 Canelo. And a couple of the Golovkin rounds and the draw I shaded to Golovkin. Other than rd. 9 he didn't win any rounds clearly.

Judges and fans nowadays generally score rounds to the aggressor even if he is ineffective. The first time I watched the fight I remember thinking that Golovkin looked washed up. I was wrong. That pretty much was Golovkin. He looked about the same against Ouma.

Golovkin's real skill is that he is incredibly tough. Hagler-like chin (although Marvin was better) dedication like a junkyard dog, but not a great fighter. He's limited, can't fight backing up, power is overrated. He landed maybe 5 solid power punches in 12 rounds, Canelo rolled with everything and blocked most of them. He is the more talented fighter. Where Golovkin won was in the battle of body language. That's about it.

You are the first person I've ever heard say that. I remember watching on TV ( I was nine) and wondering what was wrong with the great Ali.

Wrong. Norton lost the last 2 and couldnt even stop Ali with a broken jaw. Norton got dropped by Vic Brown.

How did you score the 1st Jeff Fenech v Azumah Nelson fight? I'm always interested if others especially neutral fans felt that Fenech was robbed like most of Australia still feel to this day about Fenech being robbed of becoming a 4 division champ.

I think I saw it when I was a kid, but I certainly didn't score it, because I didn't know how, I don't even think I knew they scored matches back then. So... here I go

Jeff Fenech vs. Azumah Nelson 12 Rounds @ Super Featherweight. June 28, 1991

    Round 1 Nelson 10-9
Back and forth first two minutes, Fenech rocked late, ate some big shots.
Round 2 Nelson 10-9 Azumah counter punched well, made Fenech miss throughout.
Round 3 Fenech 10-9 Jeff rocks him early, phonebooth fight, Jeff rocks him again late. Clear for Fenech.
Round 4 Nelson 10-9 Back and forth war along the ropes, both men rocked, Azumah landed cleaner.
Round 5 Fenech 10-9 Solid Jeff round, tightened his defense, Azumah's output dropped.
Round 6 Fenech 10-9 Pace dropped, Fenech's defense was solid, landed cleaner rights and flurries.
Round 7 Fenech 10-9 Jeff countering well in middle of ring, takes it to ropes, dominates to bell.
Round 8 Fenech 10-9 Countering with rights beautifully over the jab, then takes it to the ropes again.
Round 9 Fenech 10-9 Jeff slipping and blocking, landing counters, then mauls him on ropes.
Round 10 Fenech 10-9 Back and forth first half, Fenech dominates second half, hip toss to Azumah at bell.
Round 11 Fenech 10-9 Jeff countering with right crosses, jabs and a few left hooks that rocked Azumah.
Round 12 Fenech 10-9 Back and forth 1st minute, Jeff takes over, has Nelson out on his feet before bell.

    117-111 Fenech

118-110 for Fenech is fine as well.

Yeah, that was pretty much the definition of bull****. Fenech dominated Azumah from the 3rd onward, the fourth Nelson landed the cleaner counters off the ropes, but an argument could be made Jeff won that one too.

This is a great topic, i have to do some work for my exam on Thursday but i will rewatch the second fight between Sturm and Chudinov then as he is fighting on Saturday. I really think Chudinov was robbed badly there.

You are an idiot. Norton was way overrated. Mo chin and average power. slow.

You wouldn't be wrong in that assumption, IIRC I had it 118-110 Chudinov.
