Here in Britain the media can't keep his name out of their mouths.

And on this very forum there are 2-3 threads created to talk about him whenever he so breathes.

I can't speak for the Americans but there are a lot of podcasts on YouTube always speculating and discussing his next fights.

He's done well for himself considering he's an attempting to thrive in an openly prejudiced nation.

The only reason AJ is bigger because he is on a smaller island with a naive boxing fan base who know very little of boxing and of course AJ knows how to toe the line like a good house slave that loves his master and never dares to speak out of terms lest he be punished.

I guarantee you the moment AJ begins speaking his mind and stops the yes maas...no maas act, the British public will turn on him like a pack of rapid dogs.

People love that because he can be controlled, whereas Wilder is proud bold and loud and isn't willing to know his place.

Naive fan base is taking the **** a little bit, I might not post on here 500 times a week but, I've been watching boxing since Hagler put Minter through a meat grinder and I personally know people who work 2 jobs in order to go to all the big domestic shows and saw the likes of Hatton in Vegas and Fury in Germany.

The U.K. Is punching well above its weight regarding number of champions, particularly compared to the likes of Germany which has a similar size population and zero world champions.

Add to that the fact that the uk heavyweight scene at the moment is arguably unrivalled globally as regards current champions, contenders and upcoming talent.

Back on topic and yeah, Povetkin is past prime and not the threat he was but, all it takes is for Joshua to take his eye off the ball and he could very well get
creamed. We currently have 2 heavyweight champions, one of which is fighting the consensus number 3 in the world and the other is likely fighting Joshua's leftovers in Breazeale, who incidentally I give a decent chance against Wilder as he has heart and plenty of dog in him.

I don't actually see what the big issue is in all this.....

You're obviously the exception to the rule and I was being kind when I called them naive.

Obviously there are a few knowledgeable hardcore boxing fans from the uk, you can find the odd few on here.

Sadly the majority are new age johnny come lately band-wagoners who parrot off the same lines Eddie and his goons trot out.

There are posters on here who genuinely believe that the UK is the mecca of boxing and hordes of fighters across the globe dreams of fighting in the dreary crime ridden, drunken lout infested capital that is London.

Why don't you name me all these British champions that are big sellers across the globe?

    There is AJ

    Who else?

Oh yes, there is Tony Bellew who has done everything in his power to avoid fighting the best cruisers.

Help me out because I'm struggling to think of all these long list of current World champion belt holders

Come on now this is the Mecca of boxing, you should be able to reel me off a long list in no time...

At least Povetkin did not look scared of AJ at all during the face off, not that it means that much. But yeah, size is a major issue, as is age, and I can't see the little Russian do much here besides take a beating.

You are out of your mind. Povetkin is no where near third. Ortiz would kill easy to hit Povetkin. Joshua ducked Ortiz lets not forget that. It's true that Joshua can't take a punch and has no stamina. Even Wlad the egg Klitschko had Joshua out on his feet and was one punch away from koing him but as usual Wlad the egg was to scared to throw enough punches. Joshua chin is really bad and it takes him a long time to recover. Ortiz would have stopped Joshua. Joshua and Wilder should go ahead and fight before one of them gets ktfo.

What part of 39 years old, short and tubby old man don't you understand? This fight shouldn't even have been sanctioned to due to the size disparity let alone his age.

His ranking means nothing and he isn't no 2, he is third.

This is a guy who almost got stopped by David Price of all people and you seriously think this is going to be a challenge for AJ?

Seems like you're a fan of Ortiz or maybe just a whining malcontent. If AJ was fighting Ortiz next instead of Povetkin I wonder if you'd be happy or if you'd be screaming that AJ is going to fight an old bum who just KO'ed by that fraud Wilder !!!

    Some people are never happy.
