    Im quite prepared to accept Marciano was over and above strong for his size, ditto his power.Stronger than Rahman?

    Doubt it. Rahman benched over 500lb. Marciano didn’t lift weights because of his bad back

    Functional strength? Maybe you can make a case

    How is it a moot point ? Do yo think he was stronger than McCall or Rachman ?

    Agreed, and super tough but he was not close to as strong as a Rahman or a McCall .. let's be serious.

    Of course not. Not a fair comparison. Marciano Was only 185lb. Those men were 240lb men who may have been on roids. Definitely much stronger than Marciano. But Marciano was pretty strong for his size eh?

    You comment often on matters related to size & strength-that avatar is you, & you are a power-lifter?

    Rahman benched 550 pounds without even being a gym rat. And don't give me the Rocky had greater functional strength argument. Benching is a function" a function that is relative to many sporting applications. Rahman was a beast with loads of natural talent.

    I think Rocky would lose to both of them. They are simply too big, strong, and better than given credit for, especially McCall.

    Now, McCall vs. Rahman would be a good fight.

    No I don't think so, but I've no way of being certain.I was using diplomacy, I'm obviously not very good at it!

    I also don't believe it. I know strong powerlifters with Rahman's size who won't bench 550 lbs. It's way more than twice*his weight which is great result even for competitive powerlifter when we talk big-sized powerlifters.

    On the other hand, I'm absolutely sure Rahman had much more weightlifting strength than Marciano and would've easily won if the two met at powerlifting competition. But they would have been in different weight classes anyway.

    I will show to you a friend. He weighs 82kg =180pounds and he can bench 496.04 pounds
    On this video he is benching 485=220kg his new record is 225kg=496.04pounds
