Yet Calzaghes win over prime undefeated Kessler is greater than any of Frochs, as is Calzaghes wins over Hopkins and Eubank. What are you referring to?

There was nothing for Calzaghe to prove either. Froch was only British champ. Froch had Degale waiting in the wings

    I thought it was close.
I scored for Ward but by a similar score to the 2 judges. Neither did much for many rounds

Look I love Froch, great heart, engine, chin, warrior, an old school fight anyone type of fighter who earned his stripes big time.. Overcame the odds & his own limitations time & again! But i saw get outboxed on many occasions even in fights he won, he just had this will to win & champion mentality that pulled him through.. But against Calzaghe (JC at his best) he'd lose a UD.. Too awkward, loads of movement, angles, too quick & too high intensity! Hard fighter to get out of his rhythm was Joe when he was on his game! Stylistically a bad match up for Froch! He'd have his moments but I suspect it would be a 116-112 type affair for JC.

I do think he has a deeper resume though.

    Yep.

I'm not a Ward fan but he put on a clinic that night.

Froch was lucky to win 3 rounds.

Man Carl Froch musta forgotten that Calzaghe was twice as fast as Andre Direll and the measures he had to resort to and employ ( head locking, wrestling, and body slamming to the canvas) to negate Dirells speed , Froch should be thanking his lucky stars he was always on Calzaghes shirt tales or he probably wouldn't have got past Commonwealth level if they were the same era . Joe destroys any version of Froch and if you don't know that then you know **** about boxing , ps Froch fans answer me this please , why did Froch point blank rule out fighting @ 175lbs ? Just curious .

I'm not too sure Calzaghe would have beaten George Groves tbh.

His elbows out , open defense , slappy style would be exploited by the sharp , lighting quick, ambushing George Groves. The over hand right hand was a major weakness of Calzaghe and Groves had a very fast and powerful one.
As good as his chin was , he's not taking that punch as much as he took Reid's. He'd be knocked out.

Groves is a bad style match-up for Calzaghe. He matches up better with Carl Froch.

Yes he will. And by a wide margin. Remember, one of the 3 judges had Calzaghe losing to a washing Bernard Hopkins. You don't go from that to beating a prime in shape specialist in Andre Ward.

I don't consider retiring to be 'ducking' in all honesty.

Whenever a champion retires, there will always be an up and coming guy that can always claim was being ducked.

It's different when you avoid a guy for multiple years, and never fight tho.
e.g. if Mayweather had never fought Pac

    That's total gibberish.

As opposed to what Froch next 3 opponents? How did their careers map out?
