no, bhop is very dirty though.

Good to see Herol is making sure Joe Calzaghe threads continue to go for pages and pages. His diehard commitment to trashing him in every thread is now a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine. I'm not up for any real discussion on his career I just enjoy watching him spray **** all over himself whilst claiming to own people. It's like Louis Theroux talk to some oddball who genuinely believes himself right much to the amusement/offence of everybody else.

Well done Herol. You're the Westboro Baptist church of ESB.

Prime Froch likely would have beaten old Calzaghe.

Prime for prime, Calzaghe takes a cozy UD to the bank.

I'd also add that Froch is quite predictable. Flat footed & moves in straight lines.. Carl's right hand was venomous at times but as he aged he telegraphed a lot of his shots & u could see them a mile off!

Also Calzaghe could think on his feet & adapt better too.. McCracken was Carl's ring IQ LOL I just don't see Froch being an overly bad style match up for him (in fact I think peak Kessler was a slightly better fighter) Hopkins, Ward, Kovalev etc yes.. Tricky fights! But Froch? No. Not selling him short, it would have been a great win in retrospect & its a shame they didn't cross paths but I don't see him beating Calzaghe at his best... He'd have to have an off day for Froch to pull it off!

He did go a little too early for me JC though & as great as he is probably could have been matched better overall.. It came good in the end but I always felt a tinge of 'what more' & 'what if' with Calzaghe.. Dawson, Johnson, Dariusz, Tarver, Otke, Bute etc would have deepened his resume further & all winnable fights (except Otke lol) but hey ho, happy retirement champ.

Sven Ottke may have beaten a prime version of Mike Tyson in Germany.

Joe would never have fought in the Super Six at that stage.

It's a shame that his career was sandwiched in-between the Benn/Eubank era - Ward/Froch era at SMW. Which is why he should have moved up to LHW earlier.

What do you mean when you say that Joe moving up made Carl?

Do you mean as in Carl wouldn't have gotten a belt had Joe remained at the weight?

Calzaghe would have won a wide decision. End of discussion.

You'd have had to have fancied Joe to have beaten Carl, but I think it's an exaggeration to say that he'd have destroyed him. There'd have been too much emotion involved.

Regarding Carl moving up to LHW, there was no need for him to do that. He had the Super Six, then Bute and Groves, and DeGale if he'd have fancied it. He also comfortably made the weight.

Calzaghe moving up opened the door to the super six tourney to Froch and the super six got him the fights faster than he would have probably got them had Joe kept the WBA & WBC , and no I don't mean Froch would have remained belt less he would have probably had to fight for the IBO though after Joe didn't pay their fees and was stripped of it or he could of fought for the IBF after Joe got stripped of it for not fighting the unknown Stieglitze , Joe moving up taking two retirement fights in America opened the door for Carl , the whole point behind the super six if I remember was to crown Joe's sucsessor as King of the 168lbs division .
