"Walcott had the legs of a twenty-year-old," Silverman said. "He was having the best fight of his career. He must've put Rocky into two hundred head-on collisions. It was one of the worst lickings I ever seen a guy get... The poor kid couldn't see. He was getting the **** punched out of him."

Walcott was a crazy old man, and again, his ring IQ only improved with age

But Marciano wasn't cut before the fight and he had 85 rounds of sparring for it ! BTW that quote came from the book I mentioned!

The bad thing about most hardcore Marciano fans is they suck at defending Rocky properly from critics. I think I've learned well how to do it over the years.

You are realistic and don't make outlandish claims on his behalf ,hence people take you seriously and weigh up your comments giving them due respect.Reznik is a nice kid who makes great videos, but he has one hell of a blind spot when it comes to Rocky's limitations.

I don't even need to be great at defending Marciano when guys like Don Turner, Joe Louis, Jack Dempsey, Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, and Lou Duva regard him as one of the hardest punchers of all time and the GOAT, or at least in the top 3. Though I'd like to get better at defending him from the "historical revisionists"

Ali and Dempsey never felt his real punches.
I'd like to see these primary sources from you where Louis,Dempsey and Ali rank Marciano in the top 3 of all time. Duva was full of it imo I'm not interested in his opinion

Turner says he was trained by Goldman, I know for a fact he was on the door taking the $1 admission at Gleasons gym in the 70's and his whereabouts and age don't tally with Goldman's.
When did Turner ever see Rocky fight?

Turner says you can't overtrain, he got that from Freddie Brown whose gopher he was.Turner says pads are bull****, Goldman pioneered them.Turner says the shoulder roll is bull**** . Turner says Ward is an average fighter and that Floyd Jnr would just be a 6 round fighter "back in the day". Turner says a lot of things and a lot of them are plainBS.imo Turner has been around a long time and has created this curmudgeonly mystique around himself .
    WTF is he training now?
If you are indeed Reznik, you sure haven't changed.Straight back and in controversy immediately, how long will you be with us this time two/three weeks?

Give me a break, how many of the guys listed actually fought Rocky? We´ve gone through the Don Turner "Rocky beats Klitschko" brain**** for pages. Then there is Muhammad Ali. Yep, I guess we can take every of his bubbles at face value. Like fighting Foreman and Frazier the same night.
What exactly was Walcott telling about his era, when the bigger Ali beat Liston? What about taking this as true gospels?

Lmao I'm not reznick, though I'd love to have his editing skills, his youtube vids are amazing. Idk about his history here. I'm not here to start up drama at all, I'm just a simple amateur boxer who defends who he believes should be defended.

^Ali says Marciano would give him the toughest fight out of all heavyweights. He said that as an old man joking, his punches still hurt. He said that in his prime, he was better than Joe Frazier. Yes you can judge a fighter on video, especially when you're as experienced as Ali.

^Frazier calls Marciano second greatest below Joe Louis

^Dempsey calls Marciano the hardest puncher he's ever seen, and thinks he hits harder than louis and himself

^Joe Louis says that Marciano was the hardest puncher he ever faced

^George Foreman (ik i didnt mention him) regards Marciano as one of the 4 hardest punchers ever in no specific order, and as the 2nd greatest heavyweight of all time

Don Turner may be nutty from time to time, but him and Lou Duva have inexcusable knowledge of boxing, training many great heavyweight champions. Their opinions shouldn't be taken lightly.

Where in any of these links does Ali,Louis,Dempsey say Marciano is in the top three heavyweights of all time? Because that is what you are claiming they said!
Where does Foreman say this ? Source please? Which great heavyweights do you think either Turner or Duva trained ? Turner worked a couple of fights with a 45 years old Holmes what do you think he could do for Larry at that stage apart from rinse his mouthpiece? He did nothing wrong in the fights I watched, but what input do you think he had? .Turner ****ed up big time when he convinced Holyfield he didn't need a cut man and Evander duly got cut and he couldn't stop the bleeding!
Duva had George Benton for training and strategy, Fat Lou was a liability in a corner imo."You're doing great baby"lol Reznik is a whizz at video no doubt about that!
TBH I'm not convinced you aren't him.If you are ,welcome back, you have a lot to offer here , just go easy with the hero worship!
