Youll keep saying wlad was off for 2 yrs but the man was training the whole time anticipating his rematch...

Fury kept the man on ice youll know the man was training as hard as he had ever trained for that fight

Then youll say he was old & coming off a loss so was larry holmes who had retired for 3 yrs & came straight off the couch into a fight with a young peak & prime mike tyson..

Did wlad look bad yes did he look good vs jennings no but he has always had flat or not great performance's specifically against sam peter, povetkin & haye, fury just had enough size & a good enough jab to offset his jab & make him hesitant

Fury landed no significant punches & was scared to throw a combo not even a 1 2, wlads defense was still excellent & made fury miss alot

AJ fought a very focused & trained wlad that im pretty sure was very angry from what had transpired in the last 2 yrs

Aj like none of wlads past opponents win lose or draw actually landed constant leather & combinations on him & actually made him have to dig deep & fight back which he did & had the younger fighter in trouble

Youll always mentioning wlad age but just like him bhop had finally lost at 38 or 39 & still went on to have success tell he was 50 wlad was in way better shape & couldve continued & feasted on guys like breazelle, whyte, chisora & miller

you Brits say he was at his prime, yet say lewis was Fat (five lbs heavier than against Rahman) old, and shot. talk about cherry picking facts.

Fits their agenda nicely. Nothing more nothing less. If Wlad unretired today i would put him in the top 5 for sure even without seeing him have a fight.

He was clearly past prime, everything past Pianeta for me is past prime for Wlad, that was the first fight when I saw a decline in his abilities.

Doesn't mean Wlad wasn't still the best heavyweight on the planet bar a fit Fury. He was the best possible opponent Joshua could of fought at the time, I'd favour the Wlad Joshua fought over everyone else apart from a fit Fury, including Wilder, Povetkin and Ortiz.

Anyone thinking Wlad was prime then is an idiot or has an agenda, same for anyone thinking he wouldn't of been favoured to whoop Wilder, Povetkin and Ortiz. Hell Wlad could come out of retirement right now and would likely be favoured over everyone but Joshua.

had fury been confident of beating Wlad again, he wouldn't have run for the hills from a career high payday. if he cons his way into another big money fight, he will disappear again for years afterwards.

The same reason that people discredit wins that Mayweather, Pacquiao, Canelo and many others hold.

Popularity as a boxer will always spawn a legion of haters, who will discredit everything that boxer has done. Joshua isn't unique in this aspect.

If he had been able to get into the same shape as the first fight I think he could of beaten Wlad again but the chances of him getting in shape was as about as likely as him winning X-Factor with his rendition of Danny Boy.

He imploded after winning the belt, some guys can't handle the burden of the belt. You spend all your life chasing one thing and when you get it, then what? He no longer had a goal to keep him on track and just went off the rails. Had he been allowed to fight Wlad he undoubtedly would of shown up in awful shape and mentally unprepared, would of been like when Buster Douglas beat Tyson and then showed up vs Holyfield looking like garbage and got his ass handed to him.

I suspect you're right once he gets that big payday from Joshua, win or lose, he'll likely just disappear again. Joshua's emergence as a big draw has given him a goal again, but once that has gone his natural tendencies to over indulge will emerge again as he will once again be left without a goal or purpose and will just aimlessly look for a way to fill the void that has been left where boxing once resided.

    Because...

    Klitschko was post-40
    Out for over a year-and-a-half
    Already unseated by Fury
Visibly declining since at least the Jennings fight
Given all of these factors, Joshua visibly underperformed

It was a good, significant win, and props to Joshua for taking the fight. It will certainly help Joshua build his legend. But it was not as important as the Fury win, and revealed that the champ has a lot of learning to do.

he is a glass jawed, manufactured bum. he would have gotten killed in a rematch. he will be incredibly lucky if he can cherry pick his way to another big fight. he came very close to being ko'd by bums and a shot cw the first time around.

Explosiveness but more importantly - Reactiontime slows down with age. Everybody knows that. He would not have missed that left hook thrown right after the Joshua knockdown punch if he was prime - for just one example.

Wilder will start decline very soon. 1-2 year tops.

Especially the part that I bolded.

He was missing AJ by a whisker all night. Add 5% more speed and Joshua would have ended that fight drooling onto the canvas.
