I agree that there is a tendency to underrate Joshua’s victory against Wladimir. Was Wlad in his absolute prime? No. Was he shot? Hell no! He looked the best he had in years, was in excellent shape, and highly motivated. Its also valid to consider, that while Wlad may have been 41, he was arguably the best 41 year old HW ever. He never took much punishment during his reign and always kept himself in absolute peak condition. Stuff like this prolong a boxing career.

The posters in here calling Wlad shot is way out of order, and generally the term “shot” is used way to much. Shot is not going 11 rounds at a high pace (for super heavies) giving the young lion hell in the proces. Shot is getting KTFO by a blown up Cruiser way below your peak level (Haye).

Oh, and others undersell Wilder and his win against Ortiz which is also a damn shame. Ortiz looked great against Wilder, threw lots of power punches and his timing was on point. He constantly tagged Wilder with his big left and had him in serious trouble mid rounds. But Wilder, the champion he is, pulled through and got the KO he so badly needed on my scorecard (the homecooked cards weren’t revealed before after the fight).

I appreciate both fighters, maybe because I’m neither a Brit or American. And the fight will happen, it just have to marinate a little. In the words of the great Angelo Dundee, regarding the first Leonard-Hearns fight: “Let it get juicy first! Give it some time and the fight will be twice as big” or something like that.

 

How is it an agenda Fury beat the better version of Wlad. Wlad was old as hell and on a two year layoff on top that Fury took his soul completely outclassed him. I mean if you guys are gonna give AJ that much credit then Floyd deserves full credit for Mosley, Cotto, Pacquaio all of who where younger than Wlad and coming off wins and wherent on huge layoffs where active prior to fighting him. The UK bias is showing

 

AJ did also give wlad a lot of respect, might have ended earlier if he hadnt played it safe and waited for wlads 4something tank to dissipate

 

Corrie Sanders beat the best version of Wlad. Fury's win over a 39 year old means nothing. Likewise, the same with Joshua's win over a 40+ year old Wlad.

 

Yeah neither one gets full credit but AJ deserves less /shrug

4 of the 5 were Klitschko threads you liar. You completely embarrass yourself with your lies and inconsistencies , and everyone can clearly see your hopeless desperation

 

That was a good win for AJ and a classic “passing of the torch” moment but I believe Wlad ****ed up that night more than he was actually beaten.
Age and layoff does come into play there but he should’ve and absolutely could’ve won regardless.

I just went back to your last 50 odd posts, and 43 were in either Klitschko or Calzaghe threads, and 9 were not.
