I haven't been as excited for a fight in many a year. There's a real buzz about this one.

War draw or anticlimactic no contest on an early cut!

 

I was about to say how solid an undercard this was, but I was also going to say that Sirotkin vs. Shishkin was the standout highlight of it.

Chudinov will lose in ugly fashion, I think. Cece will dominate. Ponomarev, Bohachuk, Madiev and Shafikov ought to have pretty easy nights on paper.

Madiev drew with Pitto and Ponomarev lost to Vorobiev.

 

Anyone who had actually watched Vorobiev before would have known that was gonna be a tough fight for Ponomarev!

Unlike some of the insecure & immature numpties on here I'm not scared of taking a definitive stance and being wrong once in a while.

 

Vorobiev beating Ponomarev is not a huge surprise imo. Vorobiev is a great prospect.

Madiev vs Pitto ending in a draw on the other side is more than a huge surprise. I mean Pitto is solid but Madiev has to outwork and outpoint a guy like Pitto quite easily if he wants to be a real prospect. This is a huge upset.

 

Who the hell is Vorobiev?

Apparently he fought on a couple of the World of Boxing Rus cards that are streamed every few months (I've done RBR threads for many of them, so very plausible I've seen him before) - just can't place the name, and the kid has fought absolutely nobody of note prior to Ponomarev.

 

How many more fights befor the usyk fight

 

I was going to say the opposite (that Pitto, a proven fringe world class guy, holding Madiev to a draw was less of an upset than a complete unknown snatching Pono's zero) but if you're pretty familiar with Vorobiev then I'll defer to your judgment.

 

Brækhus, Chudinov, Briedis, and Shafikov all have fights coming up.
