Indeed. I've always had a strong interest in ancient history. I just think it's funny how someone who is a first generation immigrant to Britain with two iranian parents would describe their heritage as Persian. I can't imagine a French citizen moving to the UK and describing their ancestors as coming from Gaul.

My friend is from Iran and calls himself Persian. I think it’s a bit odd, almost self hating. Maybe because he’s not Muslim and doesn’t want to say he’s from the Islamic Republic of Iran.
