@ O2 Arena at the Whyte vs Parker undercard Very interesting and promising fight. The first fight between both was a pretty tight and rough affair. You can describe it as a WAR. I only can recommend to watch the first fight, it was a great fight. This content is protected Official Score: Benn 57-54 Peynaud My scorecard: Benn vs Peynaud R1: 7-10 / Benn down twice R2: 9-10 / Peynaud landing much cleaner and heavier shots + a way more active R3: 9-10 / Benn started better, landed some good shots but so did Peynaud and he hurts Benn late R4: 10-10 / Peynaud landed some heavy shots in the first half, Benn stunns Peynaud with a good body shot to the solar plexus and worked the jab well in the last minute R5: 10-8 / Peynaud down once R6: 10-8 / Peynaud down once, great exchange in the last 15-20 seconds 56-55 Peynaud Even if you give the fourth round to Benn and the third 10-10 (no way it was a Benn round) it would be a 56-55 for Benn in the best ****ing scenario. 57-54 is a ****ing disgrace but a typical british scorecard. Tony Bellew scored it 55-55 by the way. He said the last round might be a 10-7 for Benn but i do not agree, Peynaud wasn't out of order, he was still throwing heavy hands and hurts Benn with a stunning right a couple of seconds before getting hammered himself, great exchange as i wrote but no 10-7 round. Peynaud going into the second fight as the huge underdog next weekend. He is +850 right now. I think he could be a living dog here but obviously he needs a knockout as i doubt he will win a decision vs a british fighter as Matchroom owning the judges. But looking forward to this one, should be a good spectacular fight. As they'll show the whole card i assume it will be the first fight at 6 PM. WAR PEYNAUD!
War Paynaud indeed, but sadly, Benn will play it ultra safe early, and pour it on late, and probably win by legit UD or late KO this time.
Benn will win comfortably this time. You got to think that since the last fight Benn has probably done about 10x the training hours that Peynauld has.
Come on there's no selling this guy as anything more than a bum. No one knew he existed before he was drafted in to be served up as ideal fodder for Nigel Benn's son to cook. We simply found out Conor is fringe domestic level rather than Peynold being greater than perceived.
A bum is too harsh, man. Simple as that. I am not the guy who is hyping fighters for no reason tbh but Peynaud is definitely looking much better than his record. He has a good chin, he has power and he has solid boxing skills. Nothing special of course but a solid journeyman. This content is protected
The first fight was one of those rare instances where I had the scorecard the same as the judge but it ended up being a massive controversial scorecard lol. Peynaud has to TKO Benn if he wants the win. I think the last fight proved it.
Ok a journeyman if it makes you feel better If conor loses again to this "journeyman"(I know he got the brit decision) then he should seriously consider packing it in before he gets seriously hurt. No way should a supposed heir to Nigel be getting their face completely ruined by a "journeyman" let alone be in the process of having a trilogy.
Good for Benn. "I was the favorite, you think he beat me, let's do it again!" I like that attitude. Like Kel Brook against the guy from Oklahoma.
First fight was good I got Benn stopping Peynaud late or maybe a comfortable UD. However Peynaud has more notice now so hopefully he brings the same type of ambition as last time.
This talk of fighters being bums really used to get my old trainer hot under the collar. He;d say " No man that steps between the ropes & goes to war is a bum. The bums are the clowns that have never had the cojones to do it
