That N word is not appropriate. Let's stop pretending that it is.
But Klompton is not racist. I agree it's more clueless than racist.

Would you ever describe a black friend using that word to someone else?
    Hell no.

Although the apologists arguments here are really amusing.

I love how people think that appreciating black fighters is a pass.
Reminds me of the brother from "Get Out."

If you go looking everywhere for things to be offended about you will surely find them everywhere you look.

Black people: Negro is a racist word. Please don't say it.

    Rational people: Ok

You: But they said it 100 years ago! Political correctness is ruining America!!!

I’ll take that as an admission that you did use the N-word to describe an African American in your book.

From your earlier reply to me, it’s obvious that you don’t think the word is a racial slur. Because you said you didn’t use a racial epithet.

    That’s beyond distrurbing. It’s revealing.

I didn’t go looking for anything to offend me. You can deflect all you want but you’re the one who used the word. You obviously don’t find it offensive but that doesn’t mean the term is not in and of itself offensive — it is.

It’s not right to use it. There’s no defense for using it. There’s no rationalization for using it. It reflects YOUR true colors. Shame on you.

Klompton used the N-word to describe an African American in his book. So yes, he has at least “once” written something that is obviously racist.

The posting history of the person who brought it to our attention is irrelevant. Klompton either did or did not use it, and asked directly a yes or no question TWICE he finally answered “if you go looking for things to offend you, you’ll find them.” I take that as an admission that he not only used it, he doesn’t think it’s offensive.

So, no sir, I won’t be buying his book.

I take it you think the United Negro College Fund is a racist organization?

What word would you prefer I had used?

Like I said, if you choose to be offended then be offended. I have better things to do with my time than worry about offending you. If you think you can write a more accurate description of the events I depict based on a comprehensive study of the sources then do it. But my record speaks for itself. A wise man, truly interested in racial harmony wouldnt try to alienate those who agree with him by lumping them with racists.

Imagine my shock to find that Martin Luther King was a racist. He uses the term negro 15 times in the I have a dream speech...

I think he should petition Howard University to change the name of its “Journal of Negro Education” as well, I mean lets have parity here.
