Patterson vs Holyfield at Cruiserweight (200 lbs max)

Instead of giving away 20 lbs to a 215 lbs Sonny Liston,
Floyd gets to fight a great fighter Holyfield, but at a
    more even matchup weight.

    Who wins?

I feel Holy would get out boxed but it would be close and he had a far weaker chin than Holy.

It might be like the Holyfield Tyson fight when you consider that Floyd had a style similar to Tyson’s

Then you also have to consider that Tyson after prison was past his prime.

It could go either way. Great matchup.

    How about Floyd vs Spinks?

Great matchup and I'm at a toss up for a winner, Floyd by a very close decision or Holy by a late stoppage.

I don't see it as that close tbh. Holyfield shakes off everything Floyd can throw but not the other way around.
Floyd gets beat up if he comes at holyfield, even at cruiser he was freakishly strong for his weight.

Floyd cant run away or box he's not Chrus Byrd.

So he has to pick. His spots but even then Holyfield Just outworks him because in order to avoid getting knocked out Floyd has to be careful and reduce his punch output to the point where Holyfield Just wins by sheer workrate.

Think you're spot on with this Contro ..I see Holy just throwing everything at Floyd and out working him .

Floyd was far more skilled than Tyson was in `96.

I feel Floyd`s leaping hook would land often against Holy and was a harder punch than the one Cooper decked a bigger Holy with way back.

If Patterson had a good chin, I'd pick him.

I was waiting for some people talking crap here. So holyfield at 190 fought a war with qawi but he would beat patterson easy.. Patterson was absolutely better than qawi.. In fact patterson would kick the ass of qawi. Evander was a green tall skinny guy with balls and tough mind.patterson has much more experience at 190 in world class not taking it in count is stupid. He was faster and yes at 190 he hits harder than holyfield

Limit is 200. We're almost talking theHolyfield of Bowe 1 here.

And Holyfield improved from the Qawi fight when he was green.
Ever seen there rematch? Holyfield was bigger, stronger and pushed Qawi around like a ragdoll the second time. Knocked him out and made him quit in 4 rounds.

No it wasnt. Bert cooper was a monster puncher. Ask Henry Tillman, he hit as hard as mike Tyson according to him. The interview is on youtube.

If Bert coopers right hand that had holyfield reeling wasnt as hard as Pattersons hook then Tyson would have knocked Holyfield Into outer space with the first right hand he landed.

Patterson leaps in with a hook Holyfield starts timing him and eventually takes him out with a counter just like he did withsomany other guys who tried to be agressive with him.

Holyfield had the best timing of any heavyweight in history. Period. not up for debate.

    Tyson, Foreman, Douglas,Moorer, Qawi......

4 lineal HW champs all put on ***** street(foreman Tyson) or knocked down/out(Moorer, qawi and Douglas) with the exact same timed counter right.

    Bowe, Mercer, Dokes

All dropped with TIMED left hooks in between exchanges.

Patterson won't do anything. He'll get pushed around. Maybe he gives Vander a scare but unless Patterson suddenly learns Miguel Cotto/Edwin Rosario like footmovement from somewhere he's toast.

Yes because qawi was not finished when he fought holyfield..
The cruiser version of holyfield weighed 187-190 and he was green ,stop making hybrids with the experience of the hw version and inventing another weight limit

Holy was too easy to hit pre-Bowe `92, he even said that was the fight where he worked out how to beat Tyson, Holy was hurt by the first right hand Mike hit him with, but Tyson`s punches had lost their speed because he began to lift weights and became too stiff, Floyd`s hook was faster than Cooper`s punches so would catch Holy when he weren`t ready, that`s how Tyson`s hooks used to get guys because he would often land them on the counter after slipping the jab, Floyd would hit Holy more than Cooper did because he was a more skilled offensive fighter and a lot faster than Bert.
