I really don't get his hype at all.

    David Allen - TKO
    Bryant Jennings - TKO
    Tony Thompson - KO
    Malik Scott - UD

Where's this 'monster' and 'bogeyman' of the division myth come from?

Slow, clumbersome, limited power which was exposed against Allen/Scott when he couldn't drop Allen, or stop Scott.

He's pretty good. The toughest angry turtle in history. No monster though.

I tend to agree with you, overhyped a bit..He's good but he isn't the bogeyman of the heavyweights like you hear

As opposed to say.... Dillian Whyte, Dominic Breazeale, Charles Martin???

Get the **** outta with this bull****.

He's the equal of AJ's second best opponent Joseph Parker, he harvests those three's souls. Takam he'd viciously brutalize, but his soul would remain.

Old grandpa Ortiz, terrorised the old age pension home. Beat up old grandpa Tony Thompson too.

The first thing that stands about that list of Ortiz's opponents is that they couldn't demolish a Wendy house between them if you armed them with sledgehammers. Not one of them resides outside of Non Puncher Central. And the second thing is Tony Thompson is almost as old as Ortiz.

Donkey wanted no part of Ortiz when he was still in his 60s and he only managed to pluck up the courage to even contemplate stepping up to the plate against him when he caught wind of his real age, and after seeing him labour to a points win against his boyfriend Malik Scott, and after watching tape of Ortiz's amateur loss against Alexander Pov, a fight where Ortiz's defence against right hands was so porous Pov was able to land flush with more of his than he threw. The only reason some rate Ortiz is because, unlike the vast majority of HWs in this god awful era of Herman Munster-esque cumbersome giants who took up the sport late after transitioning from other sports, is because he actually possess a modicum of skill.

    Usyk KO1 Donkey
    Usyk KO1 AJ
Usyk KO1 Old Man River Ortiz
    Usyk KO1 Entire HW division

Ortiz was or still is very good and also avoided by pretty much everyone, cut the crap.He might be 50 years old and still better than Whyte,Miller and such.

Joshua avoided him to fight Pulev instead. And im saying that as someone that likes Joshua way more than Wilder.

Scott actually failed a 10 count but the ref didn't care. Far as I know, Allen has never been down. Ortiz stopped him quicker than Yoka. But let's play your game still. He stopped Jennings, something Wlad couldn't do.

Ortiz is a very good Heavyweight. The boogeyman myth is highlighted in the list of names you mentioned. In fact, Whyte just ducked him in a final eliminator to fight Parker for the grand prize of sod all instead.

Indeed. Grandpa Ortiz is one of the most overhyped HWs of this era, second perhaps only to that overrated FRAUD who beat him Wilder. The guy who fights stiffs for years and then "steps up" to face a washed up Fraudley Harrison, the previous era's glass jawed joke.

But don't tell that to the Wilder fanboys. That actually think this glass jawed fraud will stay vertical and even beat a REAL top HW like Joshua!!

That too. He signed him and never even made a serious attempt at getting him in the ring with Joshua.
