Hopkins 160 reign was horrendous.

Dropped twice and had to get a second fight to claim dominance off Sergundo....had to fight Robert Allen thrice to prove dominance.

When has Golovkin had to do this against such sub par opposition?

 

Idiot? People are getting fairly uptight now that Golovkin's reign is coming to a close. When have I touted Charlo's middleweight opposition outside of saying that Centeno was no worse than Wade, Rosado, Rubio, Ouma, Monroe, half of Golovkin's opponents? It's just a feeling I have. Trout beat Canelo clearer than he beat Charlo. Hurd fought a more shopworn version of Trout.

 

I don't know about 'needed' a rematch w/ Jacobs. I like these guys who are making a little more of a name for themselves. But aside from Jacobs/Derev, they need to face each other as well. Without having faced other top competition, are they really better than David Lemieux? It has potential, i can see that. But still some question marks on the top fighters. IMO of course

As are you. But you are basing Golovkin off of crushing 154 pounders, bums, cap drivers etc. at 160. I noticed the difference as soon as he fought two guys who were somewhat decent, that he all of a sudden struggled. Charlo matches up stylistically better with Golovkin, then, Clenelo, or Danny "yeah give me some more, while I don't punch back" Jacobs.

 

Canelo did knock Trout down, twice, but got a gift decision.
